2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa PS3 and Xbox 360 release date

The 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa was an eagerly anticipated event, so for football freaks the pinnacle of footballing action will have infiltrate their souls long before the kick off of the first game. If you’re old enough to remember the 1990 World Cup, then you’ll know that there has been none finer since, except maybe the moment when Zinadine Zidane rhino-butted Roberto Materrazzi in the chest for bad mouthing his sister.

The important point is that the world cup will ignite passion throughout the footballing world, however, never has there been a genuinely brilliant World Cup computer game. You’d think with four years between development, the creators would be able to cobble something together that inspires the same passion as the actual World Cup, but to our recollection that has never been the case.

While some will have looked forward to 2010 thinking that the year would see a great footballing installment, the majority of us were a little more skeptical. However, in 2010 EA Sports managed to got it right. Initially released on the 27th April 2010, there were a good few months of testing the game out before the real action kicked off. By the time the opening ceremony finished, many had already steered England to the World Cup many time, but sadly the reality of the actual World Cup didn’t quite work out so well.

2010 World Cup South Africa was released on the PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 and PSP. With the brilliance of world wide online gaming, it’s been great finding Argentineans (hands down!) to pit our strengths against.

It’s not just the finals that you’ll get to dripple agains either, as the whole qualification process is an intrinsic aspect of the game too. There are a vast array of teams available, so even if you’re from Mongolia and you didn’t make it to the final in reality, you’ll be able to get them there in the digital world.
