Arctic Monkeys Suck it and See

Around a year and a half has passed since Arctic Monkeys released their third album, Humbug, but it looks as though the Josh Homme influence is here to stay. Suck it and See is their 4th studio album and it is planned for release on June 6th 2011.

While Josh Homme hasn’t co-produced Suck it and See, as he did with Humbug, his influence is apparent still in the recent release of Brick by Brick. It’s the first song from the upcoming album, and it sounds like a pick up from the discarded song options for Them Crooked Vultures.

It doesn’t sound much like Arctic Monkey, so it loses them some of their individuality, but then it doesn’t sound intense enough to stack up to Them Crooked Vultures, so it’s just a bit soulless.

However, the rest of the album includes She’s Thunderstorms, Black Treacle, The Hellcat Spangled Shalalalala, Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair, Library Pictures, All My Own Stunts, Reckless Serenade, Piledriver Waltz, Love Is a Laserquest, Suck It and See and That’s Where You’re Wrong, so it can’t all sound like bad Eagles of Death Metal.

Suck it and See has been produced by Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford, who also drummed for Alex Turner in The Last Shadow Puppets (who are surely due a return). However, we’ll have to wait to see if Suck it and See can shake off the disappointment of Brick by Brick.
