Bill Bailey Limboland UK tour dates

Bill Bailey, Limboland UK tour datesThe comedy mastermind Bill Bailey has announced that he’ll be bringing his latest show, Limboland, to the UK in autumn 2015 with a massive forty nine date tour taking him right the way up until the end of the year. Building on the success of his previous shows – Dandelion Mind, Part Troll, Bewilderness and Steampunk – his latest show is bound to be a firm stand-up comedy fan favourite as it studiously dissects life and its imagined alternate universe.

The big, furry mammoth of a tour is set to kick off – in a footballing, not brawling, metaphorical milieu – on Friday the 9th October 2015 and the lucky venue to debut show will be the Plymouth Pavilions, as you’d expect in Plymouth. From there on in it’s a long, hard slog for the comedian, who’s now fifty you know, who looks like he’ll be getting just one day off a week until the tour comes to a halt at the London Hammersmith Apollo for performances on the 8th and 9th December 2015.

Limboland looks at life through the refracted mind that compares the reality of our lives with how we imagine things to be, falling into the cavernous divide between the two and getting lost somewhere between seeing the romanticised beauty of the North Lights and the full force omnipresence of your family.

The show is Bill Bailey’s opus to the very meaning of happiness under the stark glare of real life seen through the rose tinted glasses of the daydreaming troubadour. Things spill over into comic frustration at the universal truth that the world around us rarely matches up with our expectations and often when it does it’s spoiled by the presence of someone seemingly determined to ruin it.

While the former Never Mind The Buzzcocks team captain doesn’t do as much as he used to in terms of television appearances, there doesn’t appear to be any letup for his live tour shows. The UK dates come on the back of the debut tour for Limboland in Australia and New Zealand in 2014 and based on the fact that it’s already picked up a lot of critical pats on the back it should go on to be one of next year’s must-see stand-up shows.
