Dan Deacon, America, album release date and Lots download

Dan Deacon, Lots downloadDan Deacon has recently announced the release of his new album, America. To mark the announcement, he has also posted preview track, Lots, for download to give a taster of what to expect from the new material.

The new album will be released on the 27th of August 2012 on Domino Records. Available on CD, vinyl and digital download, the full track listing for Dan Deacon’s America can be found at the bottom of the page.

Lots is a mix of Arcade Fire darkness and light with synthesiser leanings. The lyrics include shadowed references to Cormac McCarthy’s The Road, as well as more positive concepts in life that are influencing society to veer back from the bleak possibilities. If the rest of the album is as good as the preview download release of Lots, it’ll be a great record. You can download Lots using the player below:

Domino bill America as being a combination of ecstatic, celebratory sounds with serious themes that include anger and confusion at the hands of apocalyptic anxiety and the ever ready presence of war and corporate greed.

Dan Deacon has been pretty busy since the synthed up, 2009, Bromst, including footprints in the classical music world, Carnegie Hall and Francis Ford Coppola film scores. America should be an ambitious reintroduction to the record scene for him, bringing a broader musical mix and a deep seated socially conscious tone.

3. Lots
