A new leaked video popped onto YouTube back in April 2017 with what’s supposed to be a teaser trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and if that wasn’t exciting enough, it also featured both Rey and Kylo Ren from Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. It didn’t stop there though, as there’s also a short snippet with Darth Maul from The Phantom Menace, along with Yoda, Tie Fighters, tantauns, AT-ATs, and the Millenium Falcon in a video that promises to bridge all eras of the franchise.
YouTubers like Prestyge and Star Wars Rebels had uploaded the leaked video in full, but unfortunately, it’s no longer available. There’s also been a lot of analysis on what appears to be included on the game with the likes of aNEBJAMIN getting very excited at the prospect of potentially getting to play characters from across the entire series of films.
The video looked all too well crafted to be anything other than legitimate, and it went on to get some confirmation from developers EA DICE at the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, where it had planned to give us our first look at the game. It had already announced that it would be presenting during the “The Galaxywide Premiere of Star Wars Battlefront II” panel on the 15th April 2017 at 2:30pm ET/11:30am PT (that’s 7:30pm in the UK) at the Star Wars Celebration, and you can check out everything we now know about Star Wars: Battlefront II to get all of the details on the upcoming release.
It comes in the wake of similar leaked teasers ahead of the official reveal for Destiny 2 recently, but it didn’t turn into a theme we saw more of in the months ahead of E3 2017. However, perhaps the best info we’ve had on the game came with the arrival of the Open Beta trial in September, which gave us a chance to get to grips with the pilot sim Starfighter Assault. It’s the best mode in the game from our point of view and you can see it in action in the Starfighter Assault tips and gameplay video below.

In terms of the leaded video, details on the game remained thin on the ground, but the “trailer” does include a little on a “soldier’s untold story”, pointing towards the story mode, which wasn’t included on Star Wars: Battlefront. There’s also a short section showing a space battle, which was also missing in the first game, so fans should be getting the missing pieces to the puzzle with the upcoming release of Star Wars: Battlefront II. With Kylo Ren, Rey, Yoda and Darth Maul as playable characters, there’s a lot to take on from the leaked video, not least of all the variety of environments, which range from the Ice Planet of Hoth to the Forest Moon of Endor.
The closing screen of the video implied that the Star Wars: The Last Jedi heroes will be a reward deal for pre-ordering the game, so Kylo and Rey should be included in that if it goes on to be correct.
