New Olivia Rubin collection comes to Dorothy Perkins

Olivia Ruben London for Dorothy Perkins

A new Olivia Rubin collection arrived at Dorothy Perkins back in the run up to summer 2012, and it brought with it some new inspiration to the print wave styles that are building for the warmer months. The best items in the collection for us have got to be the pretty summer dresses, which are thin, fitted and light. They hug just enough without catching and have a nice flowing quality to the.

Entitled Postcards From, the Olivia Rubin collection brought the latest designs from the London designer to the high street with a full-on holiday spirit that’s hard not to get swept up in just a little. With all the rain slamming down throughout spring, it’s was a good opportunity to look forward to the sunshine, and with the prospect of hosepipe ban looming, irrespective of the rainfall, something had to give and the sun’s was always going to shine eventually, which is when the collection will come into its own.

Sadly the Olivia Rubin collection at Dorothy Perkins has come to an end now, but it’s likely that she will go on to be a regular brand collaboration for the high street retailer. There’s no official word on the return to Dotty Ps as of yet, but as soon as details come in we’ll update them here.

For anyone determined to get in on the Olivia Rubin action, the designer does have a very small shop on her website with sweaters designed for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer, so you can get a new jumper and help fight the fight all in one fell swoop. However, if you’re looking to blow the bank on something special, her new Atelier Range is a masterclass in design, print-work and fabric combinations.

Rubin is a graduate of the world-renowned Central Saint Martins College in London and her designs are amongst the favourites of minor celebs like Fern Cotton, Denise Van Outen and Cheryl Cole, but don’t let that put you off too much. She worked with Alexander McQueen and Dior before striking out on her own and her Spring Summer 2007 and 2008 collections were short listed for the Fashion Fringe Award Scheme, giving her the opportunity to exhibit at London Fashion Week.
