The Strokes to release new album, Come Down Machine

The Strokes Comedown MachineThe Strokes have announced the release of their latest album, Come Down Machine. Following on from 2011’s Angles and Julian Casablancas’ 2009 solo album, Phrazes for the Young, the new album is the latest wave in the band’s resurgence from their long mid-noughties hiatus.

Set for release on the 25th March 2013, Come Down Machine was initially released with a free download of preview track, One Way Trigger, but it’s now only available to buy unfortunately. However, it’ll also be on the album once it’s been launched.

The artwork for the new album isn’t as mental as on Angles, or as cool as Phrazes for the Young and Is This It, but hopefully the music is just as good as it’s always been. One Way Trigger is fast paced and brings in more of Casablancas’ synch loving solo work. It works well with a strong link up with Alber Hammond Jr’s guitar riffs and some new higher tones creeping into to JC’s vocals.

If One Way Trigger is anything to go by, and if you weren’t already, then it’s time to get excited about Come Down Machine. Hopefully, the news will mean a return for a UK tour for The Strokes later this year.

The good news is that you wont need to wait until March to hear more from the album with the first single, All the Time, being launched on the 19th February 2013. For now though, you can listen to One Way Trigger, streamed at, https://www.thestrokes.com/us/news/download-new-track-one-way-trigger-free.
