Villagers 2013 UK tour dates and new album, Awayland

VillagersWith the release of their latest single, The Waves, Villagers are back in a big way, announcing their 2013 UK tour dates along with the release date of their second album, Awayland. With an Ivor Novello Award winning debut album already under their belts and the brilliance of The Waves, anticipation for the album launch and tour will be high.

Awayland is set to be released on the 14th January 2012, kick starting the new year. However, for anyone eager to get a preview of what to expect, their first single from the album was released yesterday (24th October 2012), and you can also take a listen to it on our The Waves single review.

Villagers are still on the road now, finishing off their support on Grizzly Bear’s UK tour, so they should be well travelled in advance of their own UK tour dates in 2013. Starting off in the Sheffield Lead Mill on the 8th February 2013, the tour takes in Newcastle Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton and Portsmouth before closing out on the 20th Feb at Village Underground in London.

The Waves, Awayland album is available on vinyl, CD and digital download, and tickets for their 2013 tour go on general sale on Friday the 26th October 2012, but you can get them on pre-sale from their website, https://www.wearevillagers.com/, in advance.
