We Are Scientists hit back with new single Rules

We Are Scientists, RulesWhile I don’t actually remember seeing We Are Scientists at Glastonbury a couple of years back because of a severe case of blurry eyetus, I’ve been told that they were class, so it’s good to hear that they’ll be back this year with their new single Rules.

Set for release on 5th April 2010, it will precede the launch of their upcoming album Barbara in June, their first album since Brain Thrust Mastery, which had the class After Hours as the main single to back it up.

Andy Burrows (formerly of Razorlight) has taken over drumming duties for the album and future live gigs, replacing their original drummer Michael Tapper and stand in drummers Adam Aaronson and Gary Powell (Dirty Pretty Things).

Along with Chris Cain and Keith Murray, Burrows will kick things off at a sold out gig at the Hoxton Bar & Grill, London, on the 23rd February 2010 as part of the NME Awards Shows. Apparently, tickets sold out in under four minutes.

Barbara will also feature tracks I Don’t Bite and Foreign Kicks, as well as Rules. Festival dates will surely be released soon, along with a full UK tour, so maybe 2010 is the year that I finally get to see We Are Scientists without being completely trollied.
