Wichita Records on Strongroom Alive

Strongroom Alive with Wichita RecordsThe American indie music mojo of Wichita Records is currently spinning on a regular basis on Strongroom Alive, the radio station inspired by everything that is good and true about Shoreditch. With a solid focus on playing great music and introducing little know gems, the US label takes over the Strongrooms every once in a blue moon, AKA monthly.

The next show will be going out on the 16th September 2012, but for anyone that wants to trawl the back catalogue of 2012 shows, they’re all available to catch up on at https://www.strongroomalive.com/shows/wichita/. Past shows have seen the likes of label favourites Peaking Lights, Frankie and the Heartstrings and co-founder Mark Bowen rolling up their sleeves and pitching in at the mic.

There’s been a phat phive months of the Witchita Records takeovers on Strongroom Alive and the show on the 16th will be their half year birthplay, so hopefully that means it’ll be the biggest and best yet.

The music played is a vast cornucopic diversity of tracks ranging from Miles Davis to Bill Ryder Jones. Electro, indie, rock, metal and jazz come together like they’re best mates at school lunch on a sunny day in late September. There’s also the promise of new and exclusive tracks too, so it’s a good chance to get the latest from the Wichita side of the fence.

Strongroom Alive brings together music, art and fashion on the air, so inevitably we’re starting to get a real fondness for them. You can listen to the station online (URL above minus the extras) and it’s available on iTunes, iPhone and Android apps too.
