William Shatner hosts Have I Got News For You

William ShatnerThis is going to be class. William Shatner, AKA Captain James T Kirk or the Starship Enterprise, is scheduled to host Have I Got News For You later this month, so cue dodgy BBC recreation of beam technology and strap yourself in for what could be one of the best ever shows.

Scheduled to air at 9pm on the 25th May 2012, the Shatner hosted episode of Have I Got News For You will also see Charlie Brooker (Black Mirror) and Andy Hamilton take up guest panelist spots alongside team captains Ian Hislop and Paul Merton. The only real shame is that one of the guests isn’t Kate Upton or Abbie Clancey to see whether or not he’s still got a way with the ladies.

Frighteningly, he’s the grand age of 81, so it will be cool to see him on British TV. With talk of the Star Trek remake planned for 2013 the old Trekkie stars are going to be as popular as ever over the next year or so.

The current series, which finishes on the 8th June 2012, will also see the likes if Alistair Campbell, Kathy Birke and Kirsty Young taking on the old rear-end stomping ground of Angus Deayton. However, William Shatner is easily the one to look forward to before the end of the 43rd series of Have I Got News For You.
