If you thought that Middle Earth: Shadow Of War was brutal, the reality is that it’s about to get a whole lot more savage with the upcoming addition of the Slaughter Tribe DLC. The name was enough to give the game away when the Season Pass details were first announced, but the arrival of the trailer for the add-on content has has taken things to a very bloody 11.
There aren’t many shades of red that you won’t find in the Slaughter Tribe trailer as is paints a very grim picture of life in Mordor under the control of this particular band of Uruks. If you’re under 18, slightly squeamish, or you have homicidal tendencies, you should probably give it a miss. However, if you have a healthy sense of humour and devil-may-care sense of adventure then it might be just what you’re looking for to see out 2017 in full-blooded style.
The Nemesis Expansion pack made its way to the game for any Season Pass owners on the 21st November 2017 and you can either pick up the Season Pass or buy it individually to take on the challenge of the worst of Sauron’s forces. You can check out some of the gruesome action in the trailer below, but honestly it’s not for the faint of heart.
Slaughter Tribe trailer
The Slaughter Tribe DLC will feature new missions, giving players the task of defeating Captains from the Slaughter Tribe, along with new quests and a new fortress theme. It will also present an opportunity to pick up some new legendary gear, as well as taking on the challenge of a Slaughterhouse special ambush.
The expansion pack is the first of four DLC releases that have been confirmed for Middle Earth: Shadow Of War, and they’ll all be available together on the Season Pass or to buy on their own, if you want to pick and choose. It’ll be followed by The Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion in December, which will give you another big bad band of Uruks to face, and there will undoubtedly be another trailer to show them off.
The DLC releases will then continue into 2018 with the Blade Of Galadriel story arc arriving in February. This will see you controlling Eltariel as she sets out to do the work of Galadriel in the fight against Sauron’s forces. This will be followed by Desolation of Mordor in May 2018, where you’ll be controlling Baranor, deep in the heart of the dark lands.
