The developer is mainly famous for their Grand Theft Auto and Read Dead Redemption franchises, which are loved by fans worldwide. The Red Dead Redemption franchise has sold nearly 80 Million copies, with RDR2 contributing the most, as it is considered to be one of the most beautiful video games ever made.

GTA, on the other hand, is their most popular franchise. GTA 5, alone, has sold more than 185 million copies to this date, making it Rockstar’s most successful title, but it released close to a decade ago. It has been a long time since we have seen a title from Rockstar; we won’t talk about the GTA Trilogy, as that was a major disaster.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Is Most Likely To Be The Next Rockstar Game

GTA 6 is the next Rockstar might be what many of you were thinking, but there hasn’t been much about the game Rockstar has revealed. So, we don’t know if the game is going to be released. However, there are some teases and rumors, which we will discuss shortly. Rockstar is arguably working on GTA 6, as there was a massive leak almost two years ago.

That leak confirmed that Rockstar is working on GTA 6; however, the game was in the early development phases. Rockstar then revealed that they are, in fact, working on the game, but it will take them some time as they are aiming for perfection. They want to deliver fans something they have never seen before, as this has always been the aim of a GTA game.

Take-Two has now teased the release window of GTA 6 twice, so fans are getting excited for the launch of the most awaited and hyped game. The first time Take-Two hinted towards the release window between the Fiscal year 2025, and then again, it teased the same release window recently. The new financial report of Take-Two stated that:

“In Fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry.”

We know that the Grand Theft Auto franchise has always delivered the best possible to the fans, and the company is trying its best to do the same with the next title. There has been no confirmation from Rockstar about the release date or trailer of the title. However, GTA 5’s 10th anniversary is nearing, so fans are anticipating that there could be some reveals regarding GTA 6.

This is quite possible as GTA 5 has been extremely beneficial for Rockstar, and the company might reveal some information about GTA 6 at this special event. It is worth noting that on a LinkedIn profile of former Rockstar employee, Jon Young, it was mentioned that he had been working on GTA 6 since 2015. So, the game has been in development for at least eight years. The profile only highlights when the developer started working on the project, so there is a possibility that GTA 6 was in development even before that.

The next Rockstar game is highly likely to be GTA 6, as Take-Two has hinted twice that the game will be released in 2025. The Fiscal 25 runs from April 2024 to March 25 the following year, and Rockstar released GTA 5 in September and Read Dead Redemption 2 in October. So, there is a possibility it will follow the same trend and the release date for the highly anticipated title could well be Fall 2024. But there is a possibility that some other games could be launched by Rockstar before GTA 6. Let’s see what those games are.

Bully 2 & 3 Are Also Contenders For Next Rockstar Games

On the same LinkedIn profile, some details regarding one of the most iconic Rockstar Games, Bully, were also mentioned. Bully was a really good game, but Rockstar had so much on its plate for several years, and the burden to deliver the best possible experience to the fans with their main IPs has caused Bully to be canceled several times.

It is for sure that Bully has been in development, and then it was sadly canceled. Bully 2 and 3 were listed on the LinkedIn profile as a 2008 project, but it doesn’t really clarify much, as we already know the game was in development. However, the employee didn’t remove it from his profile, so there is a chance that the franchise could make a return. While the likelihood of it happening is extremely small, we can stay optimistic. Fans are also asking for a Bully remake for a long time now, so maybe Rockstar Games would consider it. But for now, we can’t say much.

Red Dead Redemption Remake Is Also A Possibility

Recently there were leaks going around about the RDR remake, but when the official information arrived, fans were extremely disappointed. The news was about RDR coming to PS4 and Nintendo Switch. At this point, fans started to troll Rockstar and gave the video more than 100k dislikes making it one of the most disliked Rockstar videos.

While there is no direct indication of a full RDR remake, there has been some general comments that imply that it’s not off the cards. The reaction to the video implies that it would need to be a sweeping next gen remaster to tick the boxes for the gaming community.

Now there is a huge fandom of the RDR franchise, so there is at least a little hope for fans to get a remake. However, they probably shouldn’t get their hopes too high as Rockstar is bound to be busy with the next GTA title for the short term in the very least.

Could The Next Rockstar Title Be A Max Payne Sequel Or A Remake?

The Remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 were announced back in 2022. Remedy Entertainment revealed some information after a long year regarding the remakes, and fans would be glad to know that the remakes have moved on from the concept stage to the proof-of-concept stage. Rockstar has rights to the Max Payne Series, and it is funding the remakes.

Remedy furthermore revealed that this stage will take 3-6 months of time, and then production readiness will be the next stage. If these two stages take six months each, then the development of the remakes should start by April 2024. However, the game will take some time to get to development stage, so it might not be possible for any of the remakes to be released as the next Rockstar Game.

To us, it seems like the next Rockstar game is likely to be either GTA 6 or possibly a Max Payne remake. GTA 6 seems like a better option to go with, as the game has been in development for at least eight years, and some type of reveal could surface online during the 10th anniversary of GTA 5.

Eight years is a long time for a game to be in development, but given it is GTA 6, it is understandable as Rockstar is quite serious about this title. Cyberpunk 2077 was highly anticipated, but on launch, it was a disaster for CDprojeckt Red, which is why it became a really controversial release. So, to prevent this from happening to GTA 6, Rockstar is trying its best to deliver something that fans have never seen before.

GTA 6 is also rumored to feature dynamic hair growth from RDR2, and many new features will be available. Rumors regarding AI also surfaced that enemy artifucial intelligence will be advanced. For now, we don’t know much about the release date of GTA 6, but with enough teases and rumors, the game is expected to launch in the Fiscal 2025.
