Deadpool 3 UK release date and age rating

It’s on like Donkey Kong with massive social media hype, so here’s the Deadpool 3 UK release date and age rating latest, along with everything else you need to know about the film. We’ll also cover when it’s out in North America, as well as the UK, along with what we know so far about the story, cast and runtime.

The internet is firing out images for Deadpool 3 faster than Wade Wilson’s chimichanga chants, so we’ll add those in towards the bottom of the page. With the trailer in the bag, we’ve also put that in and with a mid-2024 release date we should be getting even more trailers in the coming months.

Story

There is no official synopsis as of yet, but the Deadpool 3 story is set to revolve around a plot that features him and Wolverine. It was announced a while ago with both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman teasing the release in a series of YouTube videos.

From the images that have been doing the rounds online, it looks like Deadpool and Wolverine will at least be going toe-to-toe for one fight. However, we’re expecting them to kiss and make up before joining forces to take on a much larger threat.

We don’t know who the Deadpool 3 villain will be as of yet, but when the trailer drops we should get at least a glimpse of the bad guy. Mister Sinister would be the coolest of the options, but it may be too big a baddy to wish for.

Other villains that it could be include T-ray (sort of his arch-nemesis in the comics), Madcap, Lady Deathstrike on the Wolverine front and Hitmonkey. We’ll update things here when the trailer arrives and we get to see who it is for ourselves.

Cast

As things stand, the only 100% guaranteed Deadpool 3 cast members are Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Logan / Wolverine. However, we’re expecting Moreno Bacharin to return as his wife Vanessa, and hopefully Brianna Hildebrand and Stefan Kapicic as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus.

There’s a rumour doing the rounds that Jenifer Garner will be starring in the film as Electra Natchios, continuing the role from the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie and Electra. We should also see Leslie Uggams back as Blind Al, but as with the story, we’ll add in more details and confirmation about the cast when the trailer arrives.

Deadpool 3 UK release date

Marvel and Disney have confirmed that the Deadpool 3 release date will be May 3, 2023, which we’re assuming to be both for North America and the UK. However, there is usually at least a little difference to be aware of and that might be the case here too.

This can sometimes be as much as a month in difference between the two locations, but that doesn’t usually happen for Marvel films. We could see a day or so difference, like we have recently for the likes of Mission Impossible 7 Dead Reckoning Part 2, which arrived on a Monday in the UK before coming out in the US on Wednesday of the same week.

With the May 2024 theatrical release date, we should get the full Deadpool 3 DVD, Blu-ray and digital versions around September in the UK and maybe August in the US. We’ll follow this up with a dedicated page on the home media release closer to it coming out in cinemas.

Deadpool 3 age rating latest (UK and North America)

The official Deadpool 3 age rating hasn’t been confirmed as of yet in the UK by the British Board of Film Classification, but there’s a lot to go on from the previous two films. It’s a similar situation in North America, so we’ll add in confirmation a little close to the release date.

Both Deadpool and Deadpool 2 picked up a 15 certificate in the UK, which should give you a good idea about the age rating to expect from the 3rd film. In North America they were rated R, so again that acts as a pretty good indicator for the next film in the series.

That should mean similar levels of violence and language, and with Wolverine getting in the mix, you can also extrapolate a little from Logan. It was also given a 15 age rating in the UK and an R certificate in the US, so that’s the ballpark prediction as things stand.

Runtime

As with the age rating, we probably won’t get the Deadpool 3 runtime until we get a little closer to the release date next year. However, the previous two films were a little under the 2-hour mark, so that should be the case again for the threquel.

Films have been getting longer in recent years with everything from Avatar 2 and Mission Impossible 7 taking things up a notch. That might push it over 2 hours long, but we’ll know for sure when it starts to get listed in cinemas.

Trailer and images

The Deadpool 3 teaser trailer arrived for Super Bowl LVIII, and it’s wracking up the views like a staff fight at Hooters. You can also check out the first image of both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackmen in their roles as Deadpool and Wolverine with the image below. Wade is pretty much as he was before, but Logan is sporting his cool new/old suit, which is a throwback to the Wolverine we know and love from the comics and the 90s cartoon series.

There have also been a few set shots, which show the two characters fighting, but we’re going to try to avoid these to reduce the spread of spoilers. As the release date is slowly starting to creep up on us, we should be getting the trailer in the coming month or so.
