Taking to the airwaves at the end of the weekend, Animal Collective radio is set to bring together the eclectic musical tastes of Geologist et al. Broadcasting on Sunday nights 9pm EST/Monday morning 2am GMT on Centipede Hz (not a real frequency) until 19th August it’s not going to be the easiest show to catch but for die hard animal collectors (not a real thing) it’s a good chance to hear their take on music.
The first show broadcasts at 2 in the morning this Monday coming (30th July) kicking off with Panda Bear. It’s set to include his own mix of music, as well as DJ sets by Black Dice, Haunted Graffiti and Sublime Frequencies.
Tune into Animal Collective Radio at http://www.myanimalhome.net/. You’ll be bleary eyed the next day, but maybe a bit richer in the music stakes.
The launch of the radio sessions coincides with the release of their latest album, also titled Centipede Hz. It’s their 10th album and the first since Strawberry Jam in 2007 to feature all four original band members – Panda Bear, Avey Tare, Geologist and Deakin. Centipede Hz is set for a release date of the 3rd September 2012 on Domino Records.
