If you’ve been playing Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and made it to Edward’s island paradise hideout, chances are you’ve been frustrated by the Great Inagua Treasure Map. If that’s you, this quick guide will walk you through everything you need to know to pick up the map without any difficulties, without having to worry about island upgrades or anything time-consuming like that.

In fact, if you upgrade the dock area close by, you get a boat that you can climb up to get even close, but it’s not quite close enough to make the just, so don’t worry about that unless you really are keen on the upgrade itself.

How to get the Great Inagua Treasure Map
Okay, so the reality is that the solution to the Great Inagua Treasure Map has nothing whatsoever to do with climbing up to the ledge or somehow getting high enough from the dock. It’s also got nothing to do with heading deeper into the jungle at the back of Great Inagua. Instead, you just need to find the right tree to be able to get up to a route that will take you to the treasure map.
To find the tree, you need to head up the beach past the dock to the right as you’re facing the main road through Great Inagua. That might sound a bit confusing, so if you’re not too sure what to do, just walk north of the dock past the harbormaster and turn to the right across the beach. Around halfway across the beach, head north again and you should spot a tree that you can climb, which will lead you up to the ledge from the back.
AdvertisementIf you’re still not too sure about where to look, you can follow along with the video below, which shows you the exact route that you need to follow and what you need to do. However, the tree itself should be easy enough to spot now that you know the general area to aim for and as soon as you climb the tree and walk along the branch you should see the route beyond there.
How to get the treasure from the map
Once you’ve picked up the Great Inagua treasure map, your next problem is actually getting the treasure that it should lead you to. The name of the map is Nassau, so obviously, that makes a pretty good starting point for your search. The next piece of the puzzle is to look at the coordinates in the bottom right hand corner of the map, which read, 586, 755.
You can use this in the map view and zoom in on Nassau, aiming for the southwest of the map, close to the most westerly viewpoint. Drop a marker on the coordinates and fast travel to the viewpoint if you’ve already synchronised it. If not, then you’ll have to fast travel to the closes point you have and make your way to the location from there.
The area in question is a bit of a swamp, with a fair few crocs lurking in the water, but you can ignore these and head towards the coordinates. As you can see in the map image, the red X from the treasure map that you find on Great Inagua island is located close to the large house on the hill. Past this, you can find a rocky formation jutting up out of the landscape and next to this is where you’ll find the dig spot.
