Loch Fyne Cowbridge review

Loch Fyne, CowbridgeIt’s all in the name

A night of fine dining is what I reckon you’re guaranteed at Loch Fyne seafood & fish restaurant, Cowbridge, South Wales. With a mix of classic fish and sea food dishes and some unique recipes, it’s a taste sensation from start to amazing pudding end.

Big, airy and well decorated, Loch Fyne, Cowbridge is hard to fault. The only improvements I’d recommend is that they need to fix the pot hole in the paving around the building – my girlfriend twisted her ankle on it, so fumin’ – plus they should probably have a word with their waitresses about waiting until after they bring the change before taking the tip. However, nothing could take anything away from the amazing food that we had.

We started with Moules Marinières, which literally melts in your mouth, and Crispy fried calamari with wasabi mayonnaise, which was the best tasting calamari dish I’ve had in a long time. For the main course we had half a lobster with ginger and lime dressing served with a rocket and chicory salad and a big hit to the taste buds with the pan-fried fillet of sea bass with stir-fried Chinese greens all washed down with some class Prosecco. After all that we had the Panna Cotta for dessert, which was light and zesty, so perfect on an early summer evening.

Overall, I rate Loch Fyne, Cowbridge very highly. Despite a couple of negatives, it won me over with the quality of its food. Well presented, not too pricy and definitely worth a visit.
