Lost In Space Season 3 recap

Lost In Space Season 3 recap

Netflix has finally confirmed the Lost In Space Season 3 air date, so here’s the recap on where things left off at the end of the last series to bring you back up to speed. We’ll also add in a refresher from series 1 to help you get ready for season 3 with plenty of time to spare before it starts to stream.

As ever with Netflix original series, every episode will come out at once and the sci-fi stream fest is due to start on the 1st December 2021. It looks set to be one of the must-watch shows over the holiday period, especially with it being the third and final series as we find out whether or not the Robinson family find a way home, make a new settlement or just remain happily lost in space somewhere.

It’ll be sad to say goodbye to it all with such an incredible first and second season, but it’s better to go out strong than string things along for too long. The character development, story, settings, drama, thrills and robotic spills have been impressive throughout, so hopefully the upcoming return will close things out to perfection.

Everything you need to know before watching Lost In Space Season 3

The second series left things right on the edge with mum and dad Robinson, Maurine and John, only narrowly being saved by Don after they had stayed on the Resolute to destroy it and the attacking robot ships. However, they don’t make it to the wormhole, so they’re pretty much stuck where they are out in space for the time being.

Meanwhile, Will, Judy and Penny wound up escaping the attack on one of the Jupiter spaceships with the rest of kids from the resolute. Robot was supposed to get them to Alpha Centauri through the wormhole, but the tracker took them to an unknown system where they find Judy’s biological dad on a stranded spaceship.

Smith and scarecrow, on the other hand, appeared to bite the big one trying to stop the robots attacking the Resolute.

Lost In Space Season 2 recap

Things started off with the Robinsons trapped on an ocean planet, but they narrowly escape with a bit of science smarts, which they have in abundance. While there, they discover a ring of robot technology circling it. They’re then able to meet up with the Resolute, which has been abandoned thanks to the battle between Robot and the red-faced killer bot, and Smith manages to delete any negative records about her when they arrive.

They avoid the attack from a broken robot and when another Jupiter arrives from the Resolute’s evacuation party, they find out that it’s called Scarecrow and has been forced to pilot the Resolute. However, the alien engine it used was taken by the second robot that fought Robot at the end of Season 1.

Luckily, they have the one the Robinson’s have and Will discovers that Robot is still alive on the planet thanks to contact with the alien tech.

There’s a metal eating parasite problem running throughout the middle section of Lost In Space Season 2, which they eventually fix, but the main things that happen are that they find what appears to be Robot, but turns out to be red face in disguise. Before they can communicate with it, though, the Resolute’s mission leader kills it using some kind of alien robot kill stick cattle prod thing, which is how they managed to force Scarecrow to fly the Resolute.

Will then find the real Robot and the Resolute mission team plan to use it to fly them to Alpha Centauri and leave everyone else behind due to a water shortage problem.

Scarecrow gets taken to the planet to be repaired, but Robot is captured and strapped into the Resolute to be tortured to pilot it. They manage to successfully wrestle back control, but just as they do the alien robot ships arrive to attack the Resolute. Maurine and John get stuck with Don after blowing up the Resolute, and the kids find themselves in the unfamiliar system mentioned above.

Lost In Space Season 1 recap

Taking things right the way back to Lost In Space Season 1, the alien attack on the resolute sends the Robinsons through a wormhole and they land on a seemingly habitable planet. They escape a few fairly significant disasters and Will meets the Robot, which seems sinister to begin with, but when Will helps it out it bonds with him and becomes good.

Meanwhile, Smith and Don are on their way with Smith having recently stolen a doctor’s identity and gotten off the Resolute with the smuggler come engineer. They all meet up eventually and also find other survivors who crashed on the planet in their Jupiter ships, but hide the Robot because of the attack on the resolute. Smith schemes the entire time, but the real dilemma is the black hole that’s about to eat the planet.

They try to signal the resolute, but Smith plots against them, which results in a reveal of Robot to save everyone from the lizard monsters. However, Smith tricks someone to shoot at Robot, which goes into red face mode, injuring dad John, so Will tells it to take a short walk off a long drop (sad face). Smith them collects his parts and eventually gets it back up and running thanks to the alien ships tech, creating a new bond with her.

They all narrowly escape the planet just in time, but in the process a second robot arrives and Robot remembers his bond at the last moment to save them, and they both end up flying out into space in the fight.

The Robinson’s end up being flung to a different solar system thanks to the alien engine with Smith redeeming herself slightly by helping to save the day. Things looked dark for them when Will twigs that the system that they’re in is the one that Robot told him about with the famous words “danger Will Robinson”.

We also learn towards the end of Season 1 that the asteroid that fell on earth, triggering the mass evacuation, was actually an alien ship and that it’s engine is how the Resolute flies. The robot aliens then attack the resolute in a bid to get the engine back.
