Resident Evil 4 Remake Village Key and Treasure

Resident Evil 4 Remake Village Key and Treasure

The Village is one of the first locations you get to in Resident Evil 4 Remake and it hits hard with the chainsaw attack, but you might be a bit nonplussed about the key to the locked draw and the how to get all of the treasure. You can find everything that you need to know in the sections below, so that you can add the riches to your coffers for the mad merchant.

If you played the Resident Evil 4 Remake demo then you might have discovered the locked draw and thought you would be able to find the key in the full game. While that’s true, it’s a bit more complicated than you might imagine with a lot more hoops to jump through along the way.

The game goes the same way as the demo where you just need to survive the attack for a little over three minutes or so and then the band of savages will hear the village hall clock chime and give up their fight. However, even after that you won’t get the key, so what do you do.

Where to find the small key to open the draw in the Village?

After you get past the chainsaw attack, you’ll then get to progress to a new area in Resident Evil 4 Remake. This takes you to the Farm, but there’s no key here to use on the Village locked draw, so you won’t find the answer there.

The reality is that you need to progress a good chunk further to get the key. The game is split into chapters and the Village and Farm sections take place in Chapter 1 and you won’t get the key you need to get the treasure until you get to the end of Chapter 2.

It’s possible to still miss the key, so we’ll talk you through it in more detail. For anyone that doesn’t want to find out more about the story progression that you need to go through, the key is located in the Village Chief’s Manor, which you get to as part of the natural story progression in Chapter 2.

You can find the small key you need to unlock the draw back at the Village on the ground floor of the Manor to the right of the fireplace behind the dining table. It’s on a small coffee table next to a chaise lounge, so you shouldn’t be able to miss it.

If you want to know more about what you need to do to get to this point, you can read more in the next section, but this will include details on the story. You can also find out what you need to do to get the rest of the locked away Village treasure in the section below that.

How to get to the Village Chief’s Manor?

We’ll pick things up from the farm onwards. Here’s you need to climb up to the barn to get the cog you need to turn the handle to get through to the bridge leading to the Lakeside Settlement. There are plenty of enemies to take out along the way and when you get down to the Settlement you go into a building, make your way down and find Ramon before getting attacked by the Village Chief.

This will start Chapter 2 and you’ll need to escape the Abandoned Factory, get the piece for the gate mechanism from the Valley and then make it up to the Manor at the top of the hill. You get the small key in the location mentioned above and then you’ll need to open the combination lock using the code, wheat, pig, baby.

You can then use the Crystal Marble to get into the Chief’s bedroom, and you’ll pick up the Insignia Key, which you can use on the door to the Village Hall. The Chief turns up to attack you, but he gives up the fight and you’ll be free to make your way back to the Village.

Fight your way through the infected wolves and you’ll be able to use the small key to open the locked draw. You’ll then need to go through a house to get to the Village Hall again to use the Insignia Key and you’ll go on to make it through to the Merchant on the other side.

What about the rest of the Village treasure?

If you’ve made it this far then the only treasure that you’ll have left to pick up in the Village is the one in the building with the locked double door. However, once again, you’ll need to progress even further in the Resident Evil 4 remake to get yourself an NPC partner to boost you up to the ledge to get in.

You’ll then be able to return to the Village with them and get them to shunt you up there. Get in, get the treasure and that will see you picking up everything that you need from the location.
