Once you talk to the Old One at the Sealed Temple in The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD on the Nintendo Switch after the pit boss, she tells you to go back to Skyloft to get the Ballad of the Goddess lyrics. You essentially need to find the person who know the song that Zelda sand during the ceremony, but with her out of the picture on her own half of the quest, it’s hard to know who to talk to.
Even if you do guess, or figure out who knows the lyrics to the Ballad of the Goddess, you might not know where to find them as they aren’t where you last spoke to them. Who knows the song lyrics for the Ballad of the Goddess
The game gives you a pretty good clue about who knows the song with the cut scene clip of Zelda just after the Old One tells you to go back to Skyloft to get the lyrics. Obviously, her dad is the key, but you may not know where to find him if you’ve gone back to the temple and he’s nowhere to be found.
Instead, what you need to do is to head on back to the Skyloft Knight Academy to the west of the temple. It’s the building that you start Skyward Sword HD in and Zelda’s dad is the headmaster in case you’ve forgotten since then. To find him it’s best to enter the building from the top floor, and you can find the double door just around the corner from the temple above and to the left of the armory where you first got your fight training to do the spin attack.
AdvertisementOnce you get inside on the top floor, you’ll find the headmasters office really easily, because it’s the only other big door on that floor other than the entrance. It also says Headmaster on the screen when you approach it and it’s located right at the top of the staircase. Head in and you’ll find Gaepora on the right hand side looking at books with a speech bubble prompt above his head. Talk to him to get the lyrics to the ballad.

As you probably know, The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD acts as the origin story to the plot of all games in the franchise. Zelda is the village leaders daughter, not a princess, and Link is her childhood friend and they both get swirled up in an intertwined prophesy to save the land and sky from the darkeness that threatens to awaken with the Demon Lord Ghirahim pulling the strings this side of the dark divide.
The Godess’ song tells how Link must complete the prophecy, as well as giving hints about what he needs to do next having sealed the pit once again. We’ll cover the section with the propellers in the next section, but the second part of the ballad should give you more than enough to get started on the next phase of the adventure.
