Black Panther 2 Villain – Wakanda Forever bad guy

Black Panther 2 Villain Wakanda Forever bad guy

There’s still a long way to go before Black Panther 2 Wakanda Forever arrives on the big screen, so there are a lot of unknowns at the moment, but here’s the hit list for the villain. It should give you some of the main contenders for the bad guy for the sequel, as well as giving you more info about the historical portrayal in the comic books.

Hopefully, the teaser trailer will help to connect the dots a little bit more, but the reality is that there are only so many villains for Ryan Coogler to choose from. We’ve already had Killmonger, so we can write him out of the equation after he opted for the cold grip of death instead of life behind bars for his crimes.

Spider-Man No Way Home is doing the multi-verse thing with a whole host of bad guys and by the time Black Panther 2 arrives next summer Doctor Strange should have sorted the whole madness out for the MCU. That should leave whoever is going to be the new Black Panther to face down one of the big bad baddies from the comics.

Most likely villains for Black Panther Wakanda Forever

The most devastating villain that Black Panther has ever faced is Doctor Doom. As such, its our main shout for Wakanda Forever. The bad guy was last seen in the Fantastic Four film of 2015, which was not a part of the MCU, but he was massively undersold, despite Toby Kebbel’s best efforts, so it’s not like it was so awesome to overshadow anything for years to come.

Instead, the iconic villain is beyond due a seat at the Avengers table and hopefully they don’t ruin the opportunity by seeing him off in a single film. Instead, it would be good for him to have a close shave ding dong with the next Black Panther before managing a last-minute escape and the start of a much bigger plan to return with even more firepower up his sleeve.

Apart from Thanos, very few baddies make it beyond a single film, but in the comics they manage to beat a late retreat only to return another day stronger, wiser and more tooled-up. Hopefully, that’s the case with Doctor Doom if he does prove to be the villain and if he does come back, it’s got the potential of requiring the whole Avengers team to bring him down for a second time.

With Killmonger and Klaw already covered, and killed, in the first film, we can write them out of the equation. While the multiverse of madness does allow alternate versions of them to return, it would just be a bit weird for Marvel to go down that route having already done it so significantly in Spider-Man No Way Home, so we’re sticking with these being a thing of the past.

Man Ape / M’Baku has also been covered, so we can write that off too with Winston Duke (pictured above) taking on the role in Black Panther in a friendlier and less terrifying white gorilla of death kind of way. And while we’re writing characters out of the equation, it seems unlikely that Marvel Studios would make Kraven the Hunter the main villain here only to bring him back as an anti-hero for the stand-alone film planned for 2023.

That being said, Tom Holland did take his bow in Captain America: Civil War in 2016 before getting his own debut in Spider-Man: Homecoming a year later. It kind of makes sense for the character to get an introduction in another film, because he’s slightly lesser known, but it kind of sounds like No Way Home might have a mini spot for him, so we’ll know more when that lands in a couple of weeks.

Another contender is White Wolf, but the problem with this is that Killmonger in the first film was advanced to a similar power level to the character with the addition of the Vibranium suit, which he didn’t have in the comics. This was actually a White Wolf feature, so it seems as though Marvel have done this already a little, so it would feel a bit too much like a carbon copy to land well for Black Panther 2.

Reverend Achebe is another potential villain to call on, but he just isn’t as impressive as Doctor Doom would be. He doesn’t have much in the way of big scary powers either, focusing mostly on intellect and fighting prowess and speed, so again it just lacks the impact of the metal-faced magician.

However, while we’re talking about magic, the shaman Tetu might be a viable alternative to Doom if Marvel wants to keep that one back. He can manipulate the world around him, while also being able to open portals in time and space, so he’s got some pretty neat tricks up his sleeve and could also be beefed up to be the next bad guy for the series.

That kind of covers the main rogues gallery of contenders for Black Panther 2 Wakanda Forever and looking back on it we’re still plumping for Doctor Doom to be the king git of the film. obviously, we’ll update things here if there are any fresh rumors of note, and then when the trailers start to land we’ll have a lot more information on the villain.
