Fast & Furious Hobbs & Shaw DVD release date UK & when it’s out on Blu-ray, iTunes, Xbox ONE, PS4 and Amazon digital download

Fast & Furious Hobbs & Shaw UK release

Fast & Furious Hobbs & Shaw is about to get its UK cinema release date, which means that the DVD, Blu-ray and digital download won’t be too far behind it. Here’s everything you need to know about the home entertainment release including when it’s going to be out on iTunes, Xbox ONE, PS4, and Amazon digital, plus details for 3D Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD.

The Fast and the Furious is easily one of the biggest series in cinema history with eight films in the main series and this being the first spin-off movie. It doesn’t seem to be slowing down in popularity either with Hobbs & Shaw looking like an instant hit, the ninth entry in the main series on its way next year and another spin-off featuring the women from the franchise on the cards too.

As the name would suggest, the film focuses on the characters Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, played by Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. You can see them both in action in the trailer below, which features some impressive driving stunts. With such big names in the staring roles and a quality trailer we’re expecting the DVD, Blu-Ray and digital release to be one of the sleeper hits of 2019.

The story for H&S sees the unlikely duo teaming up to stop Brixton Lore, a cybernetically powered-up git, played by Idris Elba (The Jungle Book live action), who wants to unleash a powerful bio-weapon on the world. Putting aside the fact that they dislike each other a lot, they get thrown into the fight together and from the look of the trailer Brixton might have the edge on both of them.

UK cinema release

Fast & Furious Hobbs & Shaw has a been confirmed for a UK cinema release date of Thursday the 1st August 2019, with big screenings at Cineworld, Vue and the Odeon. It’s coming out a day later in the US, so British fans will get to see the action a little earlier. It doesn’t have too much box office competition with just The Angry Birds Movie 2 with even the slightest potential of getting close to the #1 spot.

You can follow Fast & Furious on the official Twitter page at twitter.com/HobbsAndShaw if you want to keep up with the latest on the franchise as more details come out about the release.

DVD, Blu-ray, iTunes, Xbox ONE, PS4, Amazon and digital download release date UK

The Fast & Furious Hobbs & Shaw DVD and Blu-ray release date is expected in early to mid December 2019, coming out just in time for the holidays to cheer up any winter blues. It’s a big shout for action and driving movie fans for Christmas, and if you’re planning to add it to your collection or pick it up for someone special then you’ll be able to pre-order the film ahead of release with 4K Ultra HD expected in addition to the DVD and Blu-ray.

However, as ever, you’ll be able to own the film first on digital download from iTunes, which usually gets to put out films a week earlier than physical formats. Xbox ONE, PS4 and Amazon release dates will be the same as on DVD and Blu-ray, as will the rental option.

Hobbs & Shaw is 2:16 long, so it should have a download size of 5.6Gb of storage space at 1080p HD. If you’re running out of room on your PC, Mac, PS4 or Xbox ONE then you might need to either clear some things out to free up some space or invest in some additional external hard drive storage to give you more options for the digital download.

Fast & Furious Hobbs & Shaw age rating

The cinema, DVD, Blu-ray and digital release for Hobbs & Shaw is still awaiting its age rating from the British Board of Film Classification in the UK. The previous two movies in the main series both had ratings of 12, so that will probably be the case again with the Fast & Furious spin-off with moderate violence and a little bad language to be aware of.

We’ll add in more details as they become available, but the information above should give you a good idea of what to expect from it when the home entertainment release date arrives towards the end of 2019. You can see more on the film at www.universalpictures.co.uk/micro/hobbs-and-shaw.
