Gotham Knights how to fly or get traversal for all characters

If you’ve seen any of the trailers or you’ve played the previous Arkham series then you’re going to want to know how to fly in Gotham Knights, or more accurately how to get traversal for all of the characters. They each have their own unique way of getting around the city, but you’ll need to unlock it before you can take to the skies.

Our favorite has got to be Batgirl who gets a Batman-style glide system, which is a lot of fun. It can be linked in with the fast travel system, which you also need to unlock, so that you can drop into any area of the map and then fly on over to your destination.

When you combine that with her grapple gun you’ve got a lot of options for traversal. It doesn’t always work perfectly, but when it does it makes for a great way to get around Gotham and progress through the case files.

How to get traversal

You’ll unlock the various traversal mechanics for the different characters by completing a specific challenge from the Bat Computer. It’s called Knighthood and you can find the Challenges section in between Case Files and Gear and then Knighthood should be the second one along, depending on where you are in terms of progression.

If you click on Knighthood you can see that there are three different challenges to complete and you’ll need to finish all of them for each character to get their traversal. The challenges are the same for all four of the Gotham Knights, so once you get the hang of things for one of them you’ll be able to replicate it for the rest relatively easily.

You don’t need to unlock all of the traversal options, though. If you just want to play as one character throughout then you can just unlock theirs, like Barbara Gordon’s glide ability and stick with that. You can find out more about how to do the challenges below, or watch the video below.

The first of the Knighthood Challenges is Timed Strike training. For this, all you’ll need to do is complete the module in the Training Area, which you can find to the left of the Belfry when you first enter.

The second challenge is called One Step Ahead and it requires you to stop 10 premeditated crimes and it’s easily the longest one to complete. You’ll get more of these each night by finding normal crimes and interrogating criminals with information, which will provide clues to more premeditated crimes the following night.

To find informants, you need to scan criminals before you approach them and the ones with the question mark over their head will have information about premeditated crimes. You can check out the video below to see how to interrogate them, but the general gist is that you grab them and press the interrogate button (triangle on PlayStation and Y on Xbox).

Once you do that you’ll see your map with a few more red triangle premeditated crimes to take on. Head to the location and sort things our as your favored character and each one will count towards your tally.

The last of the Knighthood challenges is to defeat three Minibosses, but, in all fairness, you should have these by the time you complete the ten premeditated crimes. These are essentially the big brute enemies that show up in case file missions and premeditated crimes.

As such, the more red triangle crimes you take on the more Minibosses you’ll face and it really shouldn’t take all that long to get your quota. Use heavy attacks or Guard Break Momentum Abilities to break through their defenses and then land the combos to finish them off.
