Kingdom Hearts 3 Re Mind DLC gameplay walkthrough

Kingdom Hearts 3 Re Mind DLC walkthrough Part 1

The long-awaited Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind DLC has arrived, so to kick start our walkthrough you can check out the first few sections of gameplay and find out how the story starts with the intro. You can also find out how to beat the first few boss fights in the add-on content taking you up to the return to the Skein Of Severance.

Walkthrough Part 1

You can see in Part 1 of the walkthrough series that the story intro kicks off in the Keyblade Graveyard with Sora determined to find a way to save Kairi no matter what the cost. There’s a lengthy cinematic to kick things off, which sets the tone for the rest of the Re Mind DLC content.

The title of the add-on content is a pretty good indicator of what to expect from the gameplay. It acts as a close reminder of the final sections of the main Kingdom Hearts 3 story. We’re only a few hours into the game at the moment, but very little has diverged from that path and it doesn’t necessarily look like it’s about to. We’ll save our opinions of that for our review once we finish the DLC.

After the cinematic sets up the intro story to Re Mind, you can straight in with a trio of boss fights right off the bat with shorter cutscenes interspersed between them. The first of these is with tussle with Dark Inferno x, which is an endgame boss from the main title repackaged for the DLC. That’s pretty much the theme for the rest of the first three hours of action with Anti-Aqua following up the Dark Inferno x battle and then Terra Xehanort finishing things off in Part 1 of the walkthrough.

You can find out more about how you beat each of them if you don’t want to watch all of the 53-minute video above, but you still need a few tips to finish any of them off. You can also find out a little more about what comes after the first part in the section at the bottom of the page.

How to beat Dark Inferno x

This guy is a brute and Sora will be all alone when you face off against it. However, the good news is that with a few well placed blocks and counter strike you can pretty much see it off with ease. You can see the moves in the video above, but there are a couple to avoid with dodge roll being the best bet for the spinning orbs it attacks you with and then just a jump in the air to avoid its windup attack.

Kings Flare is always a good Link Moce to use in any fight to give yourself a breather and to restock your gauges. It also does some decent damage, so a good one to hit up during the final third of the boss fight. Keep blocking and countering to finish it off, using specials as you go.

How to beat Anti-Aqua

The Anti-Aqua boss fight is a relatively short one once you get the hang of things. You can see it at 38-minutes in the gameplay walkthrough video. It’s just a case of dodge rolling out of the way of most of the attacks and waiting for Anti-Aqua to start wandering about aimlessly, giving you an in for some decent combos.

How to beat Terra Xehanort

Finally there’s Terra Xehanort, who is all the more challenging to beat because he’s got a pet demon in tow. Dodge roll out of the way of the demon’s three-stage attack and then block and parry Terra Xehanort to dish up some big combo hits. You can also fire its projectiles back at it using block.

Activate your specials to do additional damage with each hit and much like the Dark Inferno x boss fight you can use the Link Move King’s Flare to restock reserves and dish up a killer blow to help defeat it.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Re Mind DLC Walkthrough Part 2

We’ll be following things up in part 2 of our walkthrough as the action slips on to the Skein Of Severance. If you’ve played through the entirety of the main Kingdom Hearts 3 story then you’ll know pretty much everything that awaits you at the Skein, but there are a couple of nice features thrown in for good measure.
