Reading Festival 2013 tickets

Reading FestivalReading and Leeds Festival 2013 early bird tickets went on sale as of 9am on the 30th November 2012, so for those of you that wanted to plan ahead for a very big weekend at the end of next summer then that was your chance. Though there were only a handful of acts confirmed for the 2013 festivals at the time of writing, we knew that 2012 had already seen Foo Fighters, The Black Keys, Crystal Castles, The Shins and The Horrors take to the stage, so the expectation was that the full 2013 line-up was going to contain more than a few must see bands.

Early bird tickets were made available from 9am on the 30th November 2012 from Ticketmaster with prices for the weekend set at £197.50, plus booking fees. For an extra £15 you could get early entry tickets too, plus lockers for £15 and an extra £60 for campervan permits.

The main benefit in getting tickets early, not including the guaranteed place for the weekend, is that the prices are fixed at 2012 levels, so you would have shelled out less in the long run if you’d been planning on going to Reading or Leeds Festivals. However, anyone that bought tickets early will have also been entered into a prize draw to win a chance to watch a band from the side of the stage, as well as backstage tours and merchandise bundles.

The festival organisers had also taken account of the possibility that not everyone will have had the full amount ready and waiting to spend on the tickets with Crimbix just around the corner, setting up a new deposit scheme for the festival, which meant you could book your tickets with just £50 if paid before the 31st December 2012. The rest of the wedge didn’t have to be squared until the 31st March 2013.

Bands that have already been confirmed to play at both Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2013 include, Alt-J, Deftones, Sub Focus and Boy Better Know. The event took place between Friday 23rd August to Sunday 25th August 2013 at Richfield Avenue, Reading and Bramham Park, Leeds, so the ticket announcement was pretty early bird stuff, but was definitely the best chance to get your tickets sorted in advance.

Early bird tickets for the 2013 Reading and Leeds Festivals were sold through Ticketmaster.

The Festival went on to feature Green Day, Eminem and Biffy Clyro as the headline acts, so from our point of view it was one of their weakest line-ups in its 24 year history. Deep Valley and Johnny Marr were perhaps the salvation sets of the weekend.
