Sarah Millican, Thoroughly Modern Millican tour

Sarah MillicanKick starting at the Assembly Hall for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Thoroughly Modern Millican was Sarah Millican’s 2011/12 stand-up comedy tour. It initially ran from the 12th to the 28th August 2011 at the festival before being followed by a massive tour around the UK, that lasted until the end of April 2012.

It was her 4th Edinburgh show following on from previous successes with Not Nice and Typical Woman.

Topics for the show included homemade treadmills, the downside of orgies (if you’ve read Russell Brand’s My Booky Wook, you might have a bit of a clue about this already) and addiction to party food while also having an aversion to parties.

Sarah Millican had been building in comedy notoriety for a while before the tour and Thoroughly Modern Millican went some way to cement her plump behind firmly into all of the hearts of discerning comedy lovers all over the UK (just let her eat cake!). Dates for the show sold out fast thanks to a growing number of TV appearances.

If you’ve managed to somehow miss them all, check out the video below as she flows over the Melbourne Festival Gala in 2010. You can also try to catch up on episodes of the Sarah Millican’s Support Group on BBC Radio 4.
