65 UK DVD, Blu-ray and digital release date latest

65 UK DVD, Blu-ray and digital release date

There’s a new dinosaur film contender for the Jurassic World crown, so here’s everything we know about the 65UK DVD, Blu-ray and digital release date. Starring Adam Driver and a roster of late-cretaceous beasts it’s a unique take on the history of earth.

As the title implies, it’s set 65 million years ago. The story begins with a pilot (Driver) who’s ship is hit by an asteroid and crashes down to the planet, which he soon discovers to be pretty dangerous. He’s got just one other survivor, a kid named Koa, and the two of them need to find a way to survive.

If you’re up on your dinosaur knowledge then you’ll know that the Cretaceaous-Paleogene (K-Pg) extinction event took place 66 million years ago, so you might be wondering about the discrepancy. It’s probably just that it sounds better or they’re just going with the previously accepted date, but there is an outside chance its all a part of the story.

It’s written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Wood, who were the writers for A Quiet Place, so you know things are going to get tense. It also means that there might be a whole lot more to the story than we’re seeing in the trailer, so it’s going to be interesting to see how it all ends.

If you’re a dinosaur or Jurassic World fan then the 65 DVD, Blu-ray or digital release will probably be on your radar in the very least. We’ll take you through the date range we’re expecting for the UK, as well as North America, before giving you the rest of the home entertainment details including everything we know about special features and extras.

UK Blu-ray, digital and DVD release date latest

With the film coming out in cinemas on March 10th, 2023, the 65 UK DVD, Blu-ray and digital release date should be around July 2023. It’ll be preceded by the Home premier early access with rental and purchase options likely to be April to May 2023, so that’s going to be the first opportunity to see all of the dinosaur action on home media.

The exact date will depend on a number of things, though, with the biggest being how well it does in cinemas. Landing huge at the box office in a cold and wet March is far from a foregone conclusion and it’ll have Scream VI to contend with, so even with the boost of Easter in a month’s time it could mean a shorted sting between theatre and DVD, Blu-ray or digital.

In addition to box office impact there’s also holiday periods to take into account as home entertainment sales usually get a boost during this period. if you look at July as the target then you’re looking at the summer holidays, so even if it struggles in cinemas we could still have a longer wait for the UK Blu-ray, digital and DVD release date.

North America release date latest

It’s a similar story for the North America release date where they normally have a shorted gap between cinema and DVD, Blu-ray, digital and 4K. The holiday before the summer break is the summer mid terms, which is the end of May to early June.

The US will probably get the access digital release in April too, so it should be comparable with the UK. However the DVD, Blu-ray, 4K and standard digital versions could push for the May holiday, which would put it a lot earlier than in the UK.

65 extras and special features

With the cinematic release date on March 10th, 2023, there is no official word as of yet in terms of the extras and special features that will be bundled with the Blu-ray and 4K versions of the movie. The production has been keeping relatively quiet about the film, so there isn’t that much to go on either.

However, with the focus on dinosaurs and earth 65 million years ago there should be special features on the species featured in the movie, plus the landscape of the setting 65 million years ago. The alien tech lore might be another good angel, along with some behind the scenes and stunt pieces to go with the standard deleted scenes, gag reel and audio commentary.

Sadly, you probably won’t get any extras or special features on the DVD, because they normally save this level of peach love for the higher paying film buffs. Digital can also be one to watch, because sometimes they come with bonus content and sometimes they don’t or sometimes they skip a few, so your best bet is Blu-ray or 4K to get the full 65 experience.

We’ll update you with more details on the DVD, Blu-ray and digital release date as they’re confirmed. You can see our latest film features over on our movie news section and you can visit the official website at www.65.movie.
