65 movie age rating certificate, UK release date and more

65 UK release date, age rating certificate

Adam Driver is about to get sci-fi Jurassic in 65, so here’s the UK release date, age rating certificate latest and more to give you everything you need to know about the film. We’ll also cover the story, cast and runtime projection to cover off all of the details we can find on the eerie setup.

65 UK release date

The 65 UK release date has been confirmed to be the March 10th, 2023, which is the same date it will now be coming out in North America. It’s a week earlier than its previous release date of the 17th March 2023. We’ve had a number of unusual date differences either side of the Atlantic, so its good to see things getting back to a good level of parity.

Babylon, for example, came out in cinemas in America on the 23rd December 2022, but it didn’t come out in the UK until the 20th January 2023. It was a similar situation for Puss In Boots The Last Wish and The Fabelmans, so that could have gone against the schedule for the 65 film too.

Now that we know that the UK release date is the same as in the US it should go on to come out on digital, DVD and Blu-ray around July 2023 over here. However, if it does well at the box office then it’s possible that it could be even longer.

Age rating certificate latest

The British Board of Film Classification has now announce the official age rating for the 65 film as 12A now that the UK release date is close. It has already been given a PG-13 certificate in North America, so it was a good indication that a rating of 12 to 15 was likely in the UK.

There’s also a fair amount we can take from the trailer and other relevant films that have similarities to 65. It looks a bit like Alien meets Jurassic Park, which adds to the ball park estimate above, but if you look at the recent Jurassic World films these have all had 12 certification.

The fact that Adam Driver’s character totes a gun in fairly significant, which is what could push it up to a 15, depending on how frequently it’s used. The critical factor will be things like blood, horror scares and bullet impact details, which look less prevalent in the trailer than in films like Alien: Covenant, which was a 15.

The similarity to Jurassic World Dominion is fairly strong in the trailer with Adam Driver leading the action side of things. If the comparison is correct then this will point to a 12 age rating, which is probably the best bet all things considered.

65 runtime

As with the age rating, the 65 film runtime was announce in the build up to the release to the release date. The sci-fi action movie is 1 hour and 33 minutes long, so it’s on the shorter side of things compared to the average for Jurassic World films, which are usually over 2 hours long.

Cast

The 65 movie cast list is one of the shortest in recent year with the story focusing on just a couple of survivors that crash land on the planet. Adam Driver stars in the lead role as Commander Mills, the pilot of the spaceship, following up on his other action roles as Kylo Ren in Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker and The Last Duel.

This will be his first action hero role and from the look of the trailer it could be a very good fit for the former US Marine. We don’t really have all that many good candidates for this kind of role on the big screen, so with his size physicality and acting skill he could really take things to a new level if 65 lands as well as it should do.

He’ll be joined in the cast by Arianna Greenblatt, who plays Koa, another survivor of the crash, who’s stasis chamber opens. The only other member of the cast is Chloe Coleman in an as yet unconfirmed role, but it looks like there’s going to be a lot of dinosaurs in the mix to add the three.

Story

The title for the film is also a nod to the timeline, with a story that is set 65-million years ago on an unknown planet when Mills crashes an advanced space ship. 35 stasis passengers are onboard as they were out on a long-range exploratory mission when the ship collides with an undocumented asteroid.

Following the catastrophic crash, the commander locates just survivor, a girl called Koa, and the two of them must cross the planet with no chance of being rescued. It doesn’t take long for things to get scary with a range of dinosaur attacks that would make Michael Crichton proud.

The story was written by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who previously wrote A Quiet Place. They’re down as directors too with Sam Raimi (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) as one of the producers, so there’s a lot of hit movie making might behind 65.
