The order of the games in the lists below for each month are based on their potential audience reach, which is our take on game size, scope, projected popularity and platforms covered. We don’t include every single game out in each month, because this would be pretty difficult to digest. Instead, we focus on the pick of the crop to help you see the most exciting titles out in a particular period.

1 – F1 2022

Release date: 1st July 2022

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox ONE and Series X/S

If you’ve been watching any of the F1 action this year then you’ll know that it’s shaping up to be another exciting championship. This adds a lot to the potential of the 2022 game and with the addition of Miami to the roster, it’s got a lot more to discover than previous years.

2 – Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Release date: 29th July 2022

Platforms: Nintendo Switch

Serious RPG action that will test your powers of concentration with a variety of complex fighting options. There’s a big open world environment to explore and the graphics look pretty good too.

3 – Stray

Release date: 19th July 2022

Platforms: PS5, PS4, PC

Take on this feline adventure as you become a stray cat that has found itself in a world of robotic craziness. Help him get back home to his family and take the fight to the machines.

Games out next month – August 2022

1 – Two Point Campus

Release date: 9th August 2022

Platforms: PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox ONE and Series X/S

The long-awaited sequel to Two Point Hospital, this zany sim see you heading up a college/university campus and trying to make a go of things. However, some of the courses are far more magical than you might expect.

2 – Madden NFL 23

Release date: 19th August 2022

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox ONE and Series X/S

Hut, hut, 24, 48, hut hut. I that means anything to you then Madden NFL 23 might just be the one for you. It’s huge in the states, but a lot less popular everywhere else (mostly because of the great football divide).

3 – Saints Row

Release date: 23rd August 2022

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox ONE and Series X/S

If you like GTA IV, but you’re looking for something new you might want to check out Saints Row. Its a 3rd person shooter set in the fictional city of Santo Ileso. You take on the roll of the new “boss” in town as you attempt to secure full control of the streets.

4 – F1 Manager 2022

Release date: 30th August 2022

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox ONE and Series X/S

If you love of the tech and strategy side of F1 then the 2022 manager title might be worth a go. You’ll have to call all the shots and drop all the drag you can in a bid to get your finances and technical developments together to take the title.

5 – Pac-Man World Re-Pac

Release date: 26th August 2022

Platforms: PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox ONE and Series X/S

3D Pac-Man platformer remake and while it’s far from the most exciting game out in August, it’s the only platform title for a while, so fill your little red boots and get ghost chomping. Am, am, am!

Games out last month – June 2022

1 – Mario Strikers: Battle League

Release date: 10th June 2022

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox ONE and Series X/S

Multiplayer football sim with the traditional Mario slant. There’s no story mode, though, so the main draw is multiplayer, but with the recent release of Nintendo Switch Sports and its football mode you might want to stick with that.

2 – The Quarry

Release date: 10th June 2022

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox ONE and Series X/S

Interesting story-driven horror survival game that has multiple endings and branched action throughout. Its set in a quarry in upstate New York and you’re one of the camp counselors that need to survive the night.

3 – Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes

Release date: 24th June 2022

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox ONE and Series X/S

Hack and slasher on a large scale with the same mechanic as the rest of the Warriors series. It’s got a lot of similarities to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, but with the characters and story from the Fire Emblem series.

4 – Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

Release date: 30th June 2022

Platforms: Nintendo Switch

This is the DLC next development for Monster Hunter Rise that sees the introduction of the Elder Dragon Malzeno with his own story arc, along with other new monsters, quests, locales, weapons and armor.

5 – Silt

Release date: 1st June 2022

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox ONE and Series X/S

2D underwater puzzler with dark tones that are borderline horror. You play as a diver deep in a sea trench where you can control various fish to help you through the environment.
