Left Arm Depot The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Left Arm Depot The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Things can be pretty confusing around the Construct Factory, so our guide to the Left Arm Depot in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom should come in handy. You might not realise it yet, but what you’re aiming to do is to get parts to build the giant construct in front of the factory.

When you activate the Left Arm Depot you get the part that will become the left arm of the robot, but you’ll have to get it back to the Construct Factory first. This involves solving the puzzle inside the depot to get it from the Zonai activation point to the open door at the other side.

However, it’s also possible to get to the depot without having activated the first step at the TotK Construct Factory properly, or to find one of the other depots and just have the Left Arm left. To cover these, we’ll start by talking you through how to get to the Left Arm Depot and then how to activate it, followed by the solution to the puzzle section.

How to get to the Left Arm Depot

You can see where to find the Left Arm Depot in the map image below, which also includes the location for all of the depots around the Construct Factory in TotK. It’s south west of where you land with the mask in front of the factory, so turn around and head up the slope in that direction.

You should be able to follow a stream with a wall up to the exit of the depot, which is closed until you get to the entrance to activate it. Circle around to the south and you’ll find the open doorway and you’ll get a prompt on screen that you’ve made it.

Your other alternative is to walk up the stump behind the light root, which slopes up to the entrance. If you’re struggling to get to the right spot you can see it in the video below at 15:24, but you should be able to get it.

How to activate Left Arm Depot

To start with, you need to kick things off at the Construct Factory first. If you haven’t already done this then when you get to the Left Arm Depot, or any of the others, you’ll get a red X when you try to activate the Zonai switch at the entrance.

To fix this you need to pick up the mask that you carried down from the Dragon Islands and put it in place in the space at the top of the statue spaces in front of the Factory. This makes the mask the head of the robot that you’re trying to build and with the arm you’ll be well on your way.

With the Factory activated you can then head on over to the entrance to the Left Arm Depot and activate it with the Zonai switch at the entrance. This will give you a block containing the parts for the arm, but it will also close you in giving you a lava run to make it through to get it to the exit.

Start by hitting the wheel on the door next to the Zonai switch, which will rotate to open it. Pick up the block with Ultrahand and carry it through the door. Place it as far across the lava on the right as you can and then you can climb across to the other side using the wall on the left.

You can then grab the block from the other side and carry it to the thin channel of lava around the other side. Place it into the middle again and do the same with the wheel that you can find next to the lava and attach it to the top of parts.

You can also climb the ladder to pick up the chest at the top. There’s another in the section along from this, but it means doing a little glider time and retracing your steps to climb back across the lava.

To get across the second lava pit, jump up to the metal grate either side of it and climb across to the other side where you can retrieve the parts and the wheel. Detach them and stick the wheel to the block dangling to the left of the door with the arrow on it facing the block, which you can see in the video above at 19:00.

This will wind the door up and you can head on through with the parts block. This will bring you to the Left Arm Depot exit and you can place the block in the stream for it to float to the bottom next to the Construct Factory.

You don’t need to worry about it, though, because it’ll stop at the bottom, so you don’t need to run after it. Just head down to the bottom, lift it out and place it next to the Construct you’re making. Lift up the left arm and place it in to the space and you’ll have another depot completed.

The other secret that the Left Arm Depot and Construct Factor hold is that they’re close to the location for the TotK duplication glitch that works with version 1.1.2. The area is called Tobios Hollow and you can see more details with our guide to get duplication to work in the game.
