Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope bosses

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope bosses

Nintendo and Ubisoft have been fairly coy in terms of revealing the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope bosses, but as we get closer to the release we’re starting to get a better picture for the baddies you’re going to face. We already had a pretty good idea about what to expect from the final boss, but now we know a little more about the earlier entries in the game.

As soon as Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope comes out we’ll be adding to the list of bosses below and taking you how to beat them. As it’s a tactical turn-based game there will be plenty of options for this, but the details will give you some pointers in terms of what they are.

The game sees Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach teaming up with their Rabbid doppelgangers to take on the might of Cursa. He’s been spraying his Darkmess gloop all over the planets you’ll encounter, causing problems for the locals, which is where you step in as the heroes fighting to save the day.

To add to the excitement, you’ll also get to play as Bowser and there’s a brand new Rabbid character in the mix called Edge. There has also been confirmation from Ubisoft that we’ll be getting a Rayman DLC for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, so there’s a lot of potential fun for more bosses to arrive when that lands.

Confirmed bosses

To kick things off in our run-through of the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope bosses, we’re going to cover the ones we know for sure. These have either been confirmed by Nintendo and Ubisoft or they’ve featured in the promotional gameplay for the title.

The first location that you’ll start in is Beacon Beach and there are two bosses that you’ll have to face here. After that, things are a little more hazy in terms of the progression, but after that you’re probably going to have to fight two bosses in each of the planets.

Giant Wildclaw

Giant Wildclaw is the very first boss fight that you’ll face in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, coming not too long after you arrive at Beacon Beach. He’s a big tiger-like creature with an augmented claw and upright stance for the majority of the fight.

As with the previous game in the series, you’ll need to battle your way through a number of other enemies along the way. After the first few, you’ll finally come across Giant Wildclaw. You’ll find other Wildclaws later in the game, but we’ll have to wait to see if they’re as big as the giant one you take on at Beacon Beach.

Midnite

Midnite is a lady ghost boss that looks like it would be more at home in Luigi’s Mansion 3. When they get around to doing a 4th entry in the series it will be cool if she gets a cameo of some kind, or Easter Egg mention.

There are a number of phases to this fight and the environment moves around with spectral power, so your position of cover might get compromised before you manage to beat Minite. She also moves around between the phases, so you’ll need to keep moving to get in your hits.

Wiggler

The Wiggler Boss takes place on the planet Terra Flora as they’re trying to save more of the Sparks. Cursa’s Darkmess and oppressive control has caused a drought to occur on the planet, so it’s not as lush as it is usually.

The boss fight takes place on a train ride as you’re trying to get to the highest point on the planet, a platform covered in Darkmess. As you ride up, you pass a wiggler that becomes enraged and starts to chase you, so the aim will be to calm it down and get it to stop harassing you before you reach the top. Check it out in the video below:

Cursa

It seems logical that the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope bosses will be rounded out by Cursa, who is at the heart of all the trouble. However, the big question is who exactly is the big bad and why has the entity set out to make such a mess of everything.

You can check out our theories about the final boss with the link at the bottom of the page to find out what the options are in terms of the villain behind it all. It’s going to be interesting to see exactly how the fight goes down with so many huge bosses throughout the history of Mario games.

The final boss for Battle Kingdom was Megadragonbowser, which was a corrupted version of the character under the influence of Megabug. It was yet another entity, but it was created accidentally, so it’s always possible that it found a way to return as Cursa. We’ll just have to wait to see.
