Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Beacon Beach guide

One of the cool new worlds that you’ll get to explore in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is Beacon Beach, so here’s everything we have on the area. As the name implies it’s all surf and turf warfare, so you’re going to need to have your moves ready if you’re going to get through it.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Beacon Beach guide

The sequel to Mario + Rabbids Battle Kingdom sees Mario and team joining forces to stop a powerful entity called Cursa from getting his hands on the unbridled energy of the Sparks. If you’re not familiar with these little power packs, they’re essentially hybrids of the Lumas from Super Mario Galaxy and the Rabbids… from the Rabbids.

Cursa has been spewing dark matter all over the place, which is referred to as Darkmess in the Sparks of Hope, and causing general mayhem with his wild bunch forces. He’s even commandeered Bowser’s forces, which is why he’s joined forces with Mario to stop him, so it’s going to be a lot of fun diving into the anarchy in Beacon Beach.

Beacon Beach walkthrough and guide

As soon as Mario + Rabbids 2 gets released we’ll update things here to give you more of a comprehensive guide and walkthrough for the world. It’s due out on the 20th October 2022, so we’re getting closer to playing the game first hand, but there’s already been a lot details revealed about Beacon Beach.

In addition to the sun, sea and sand, there’s also a great temple to puzzle and battle your way through, which looks pretty dark for a seaside location. In all fairness, everything will look pretty dire for the residents of Beacon Beach until you clean up the Darkmess and get the Warden back to full health.

By the look of all of the information and videos for Sparks of Hope, Beacon Beach will be the very first planet you get to explore. Obviously there’s an abundance of sunny beaches to stroll along, but you’re end game aim will be to head to the lighthouse to get rid of the Darkmess that has coated the place.

Here you’ll need to defeat the boss Midnite, but before you can do that you’ll need to rescue the Spark in the town. Visit the houses to get things underway and then you’ll need to follow the Spark when it heads off to the temple.

This will actually lead you to the very first of the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope bosses, Giant Wildclaw. You’ll need to defeat a few other enemies as part of the tactical boss fight, but it’s far from difficult, so you should breeze on through to add the Spark to your team.

The game seems like it’s going to be a lot like Super Mario Odyssey where you first have a core story progression to complete when you arrive at each new location. After you beat the boss and get get rid of Cursa’s Darkmess you’ll then be able to explore Beacon Beach in all of its sunshine glory, which will be reminiscent of Super Mario Sunshine or Seaside Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey.

Lead producer for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope has confirmed that once you get rid of the Darkmess in Beacon Beach, you’ll unlock a new batch of quests to complete on the planet. There will also be multiple zones and regions to discover, so there’s going to be plenty to do after you defeat Midnite, Cursa’s boss general for the planet.

Beacon Beach warden

The warden tasked with the job of presiding over Beacon Beach is a big bearded fellow of a rabbid called Augie. He’s pretty scared and forlorn when you get there, which will add to the pressure to help sort the place out.

You can see him in action in the video below, which features a lot of Beacon Beach from around the 1:24 mark. He’s a formidable looking fellow, but clearly everything that has happened has knocked his confidence a little, as he’s unable to solve the problem himself.

However, he will give you lots of useful information about the area and what to do to fix things, so its definitely going to be worth listening carefully to what he’s got to say. However, after you complete the planet in terms of the story progression the Warden might have less direction for you, so it will be down to you.

Beacon Beach boss

None of the videos for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope have revealed the boss for Beacon Beach as of yet, so we’ll have to wait for the game’s release date in October to see it. If you’ve watched the video above and seen the tentacles sprouting from the lighthouse you might assume that this means that its going to be a squid boss like in Super Mario Sunshine’s Ricco Harbour. However, the same tentacles can be seen around the temple too, so either you fight a giant squid twice, or its just the way Darkmess looks.

We’ll add in tips on how to beat the Beacon Beach boss as soon as we make it through that section and you can find out what our take is on the final boss to get an idea about where the story might lead.
