Don’t Worry Darling UK DVD, Blu-ray & digital release date latest

Don't Worry Darling UK DVD, Blu-ray & digital release date

With Don’t Worry Darling out on the big screen it’s time to look ahead at the DVD, Blu-ray and digital release date for the Olivia Wilde directed film. With Florence Pugh and Harry Styles in the leading roles, it was always going to be attention-grabbing, but as in the film there have been some strange goings on.

The critical reception has been fairly lukewarm to say the least, but with press and social media blowing up about the spit sit down and Florence Pugh snub, the release has been a strange one. All parties have been pretty quick to respond that it’s all in our minds, which kind of ties strangely into the film itself.

Whether it’s all just coincidence or not, we may never know, as with all things in the press these days, but what you can’t argue with is that Don’t Worry Darling has landed with a lot of noise. In terms of home entertainment, the digital release will be your first opportunity to see the film outside of cinemas, but with the critical response the DVD and Blu-ray might not be too far behind it.

The story sees Florence Pugh starring as housewife Alice, who has recently moved to Victory, California with her husband Jack. All of the men in the community work for the same secretive company – also called Victory – which is run by Frank, Jack’s boss.

It doesn’t take too long for Alice to start to see to the bottom of the rabbit hole, which puts her in conflict with both Frank and her husband. You don’t get many psychological thrillers out these days, so it makes for a novel release, despite it’s ratings.

UK Blu-ray, DVD and digital release date

The Don’t Worry Darling UK digital release date will be your first opportunity to rent and own the film with early access Home Premier. This could be as early as a month after its arrival in cinemas, so you’re looking at late October into November as a good ball park for when to expect it to come out on the likes of Amazon Prime and iTunes in the UK..

Following the digital release, it should then go on to come out on DVD and Blu-ray just in time for the Holidays, so you’re looking at late 2022. Let November or early December is a good target to aim for with the production inevitably looking to land this in time for Christmas gifts.

This will all coincide with the release of Harry Styles’ other big film this year, My Policeman, which arrives on Amazon Prime on the 4th November 2022. If his performance there gets more praise from critics then it might inspire even more interest in the DVD, Blu-ray and digital release for Don’t Worry Darling.

A things stand, production companies and movie distributors have a lot more variation in terms of the gap between cinema and home entertainment release. If a film lands big at the box office like Spider-Man No Way Home, or Top Gun Maverick then it tends to have a longer wait for the home market.

As a result, a lot will depend on how well the psychological thriller does in terms of sales. There weren’t any really big films out in cinemas on the same date, so the number one spot was sort of a forgone conclusion, but that doesn’t mean that it’s crushing it in terms of box office takings.

It’s doing okay at the moment, but the opening weekend doesn’t necessarily tell you what its staying power is. This is normally a product of reviews and referrals, so we could see it drop off a little, so our money is on an earlier release for DVD, Blu-ray and digital in the UK.

North America release date

Looking at the usual home entertainment release window for North America, Don’t Worry Darling should be available in the US to buy the digital version with a similar timeline as in the UK for early access. The Blu-ray and 4K versions, along with the standard digital, should also be around November/December on the other side of the Atlantic.
