S.C.U.M. Faith Unfolds single review

S.C.U.M. Faith UnfoldsS.C.U.M. released Faith Unfolds, the second single from their debut album Again Into Eyes, on the 2nd January 2012 and it’s topped out with dramatic vocals and sprawling sounds. Anthemic and catchy pop, Faith Unfolds was an indie dance floor filler in the first few months of 2012.

The mini Moog intro is soaring, building pace as the drum beats kick in. The dramatic vocals are mirrored by Thomas Cohen’s emotive arm movements in the video below, but that aside Faith Unfolds works well.

Though the vocals get a bit too much drama for a split second around the 2:54 point, all in all Faith Unfolds is a good track that show’s off the post punk and art rock south east London club’s more art pop sensibilities.

S.C.U.M. finished off their European tour into the New Year of 2012 following their UK gig dates earlier in 2011, but they returned for more UK gigs throughout the rest of the year.

While S.C.U.M. have now split, having announced the end of the band on Facebook early in 2013, Faith Unfolds will always remain as a mark of their best work. Again Into Eyes was released on the 12th September 2011, the band’s only full album release.

S.C.U.M. Faith Unfolds single review: 3.7/5
