The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom how to get to Rito Village

If you’ve chosen Hebra as your first port of call then you might be wondering how to get to Rito Village in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. It’s the location of one of the four regional anomalies that you need to investigate after you complete the first part of Crisis at Hyrule Castle for Purah, and she strongly recommends making it job one.

There are a few things to consider, though, in terms of how to get to Rito Village as it’s not just a case of heading out and hoping you’re going to make it. In addition to the route itself, there’s also the small matter of the massive blizzard that’s gripped the Hebra region in TotK.

You also want to cover the ground as quickly as possible, so we’ll also guide you through the basics of travel in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Walking and intermittently sprinting isn’t necessarily the best way to get there, so we’ll give you some pointers.

How to get to Rito Village

The good news is that TotK has a similar map and quest system to Breath of the Wild, so most quests will give you a point to follow on the map. This is something that you unlock by progressing the main quests with Purah in Lookout Landing and openign the Skyview Tower.

Once that’s done you can use the glider to fly back down to chat with Purah and she’ll talk you through the troubles in the regions, starting out with Hebra and Rito Village. Once you accept that main quest you’ll then get four markers on the map and you’ll need to choose which one to take on first.

As mentioned above, Purah recommends going to Hebra first and we’d definitely agree. The problem is that she also sends you to talk to Robbie just after this conversation, so the map marker for Rito Village will disappear and the quest for Robbie will be active.

To fix this, just go into the Adventure Log and choose the Regional Anomalies quest from the main list, which will then bring back the four map markers to follow. The one that you want to aim for is the one in the North West of the map, so the upper left marker.

Now that you know where you’re heading for, the next challenge is how to get there comfortably. Firstly, the cold weather means that you’ll need to change armor for some protection. Go to your armor menu and choose the Archaic Warm Greaves that you should have in your inventory from the Great Sky Island and you’ll be roasty toasty.

You can cook up cold weather protection like you did for the third of the Shrines on Great Sky Island, but the Greaves are definitely the best approach. With preparations covered, you can now go to the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower and give yourself a launch.

Use the glider to cover as much ground as you can, aiming for the Rito Village map marker, but you will need to go by foot a little. This works out well because there are some shrines to pick up on the way and you’ll find Lady Impa studying the geoglyph next to the New Serenne stable and the Sinakawak Shrine.

You can tame a horse if you want to go a bit faster and remember to log it into the stables too, which means you’ll be able to call on it in the future. Unfortunately, a lot of the route to Hebra is about climbing and suing the glider, so if you want to skip the horse and stables for now it won’t have any impact.

If you then head north west from there and aim for the next Skyview Tower you can see up on high, you’ll meet Hestu, who can expand your inventory in exchange for Korok Seeds. When you get to Lindor’s Brow Syview Tower (image below), you unlock the map for the area, giving you a better view of the approach to Rito Village.

You’ll need to make a bridge out of the wooden boards next to the tower, but it’s well worth it. You can also use this to get another launch to fly some of the distance between you and Regional Phenomena map marker.

Keep following the marker and if you want to you can take a minor detour to pick up the Rospro Pass Skyview Tower (image below) to the North of Rito Village to get the full terrain. This will also give you a lift to be able to fly close to the village, which is out on high islands in Lake Totori.

If you approach from the east then you can use the series of islands to climb up to the Rito capital, but if you approach from the north then you’ll need to glide to one of the smaller ones half-way, so get some good height to start off with. Climb to the snowy ledge part way up to rest and then climb the rest of the way.

You can then use the glider again to make the last jump over to your destination. Follow the stairs up and check out the stops on the way. You’ll then find the characters that you need to talk to towards the top and that’s everything you need to know about how to get to Rito Village.

What to do when you get to Rito Village

After you’ve made it to Rito Village in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you talk to the chief at the top of the village and then go to find Tulin. This will trigger your ascent to the sky islands above Hebra to fix the inclement weather that’s affecting the region.

If you’re looking for a walkthrough for this section next you can check out video below. It shows you how to complete the Tulin of Rito Village quest to get up to the hurricane cloud above Hebra to investigate the Regional Phenomena.
