Rito Village Chasm entrance, The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Rito Village Chasm entrance

Once you have all of the Sages and the Master Sword, you find out that you need to find the Rito Village Chasm entrance in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Essentially, you’re following the Yiga Clan leader, Master Kohga, who knows where to find Ganondorf now that you’re tooled up to take him on.

This is pretty much the last thing to do before heading out for the final boss fight, but it will also see you facing off against the Yiga Clan head honcho. Master Kohga is at his toughest here, but he’s still not a patch on TotK’s final confrontation, which comes after you get back out of the Rito Village Chasm entrance.

You can get prepared for this with the links for tips on armor, duplication, and the final boss fight further down the page to help you out after this. However, we’ll start by talking you through where to find the Rito Village Chasm entrance and what to do when you get in there.

How to get to the Rito Village Chasm entrance

Obviously, the Rito Village Chasm entrance is somewhere around the Hebra capital, but it’s kind of hidden away, so it’s easy to miss it. The Getakis Shrine is a good place to start from, so fast travel there first if you’ve got it unlocked.

You can find this just over the edge when you first arrive from across the broken bridge. Considering the fact that you will have done the Tulin of Rito Village quest as one of the Regional Phenomena quests earlier in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, we’re assuming that you can find your own way to the village.

From the Getakis Shrine you walk forward and to the right and then jump down and look for a small camp fire with a Zonai researcher next to it. The fire is kicking out a lot of smoke, so it’s something to follow if you’re not too sure what you’re looking for.

You can also see where to find it in the TotK guide video below. Talk to Ponnick, the researcher, and he’ll update you on what he’s been able to find out about the Rito Village Chasm entrance.

It’s on the side of the wall just underneath him, and you’ll get a camera movement prompt to show you the location. Once you finish talking to him, you can jump down and use the glider to fly on in to the the narrow gap.

It’s then a short walk to the chasm itself and you can jump down and dive to get to the bottom where you can see a bunch of Poes. You’ll get a text update along the way to say that you’ve made it to the Abandoned Hebra Mine.

This is where you’ll have the final battle with Master Kohga, who kicks things up a notch in terms of his boss fight tactics. Once you defeat him he’ll tell you where to find the Demon King Ganondorf, but you’ve probably guessed where to find him by now anyway.

When you land in the chasm, you need to look around for the main building, which is a little brighter than everywhere else in the Depths. You can then walk into the structure and Master Kohga will be there waiting for you in a bid to launch his ultimate weapon against Hyrule.

How to complete the Rito Village Chasm quest

Master Kohga’s secret weapon is a giant robot construct that he rides around on, which is similar to the Seized Construct that you will have fought just after the Construct Factory. You need to defeat him to get the information out of him and to stop him from unleashing the mad robot on the rest of Hyrule.

The first few phases are pretty easy and go a similar way to the battle with the Seized Construct, but it gets tougher when Master Kohga gets a protective box around him. He starts to fire lasers and missiles at you and if you’re fighting him with Mineru you might find these difficult to avoid.

As a result, it’s better to take on the boss of the Rito Village Chasm just as Link and then sprint down the middle of the laser beams to avoid them. This will also get you close enough to him to get in your hits to knock him into the electric fence and defeat him.

That should give you everything that you need to find the Rito Village Chasm entrance and get the information on Ganondorf’s location. Now you just need to get ready for the final boss fight, so get in your gloom protective recipes and heart fixing meals before heading out.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that there’s a Construct Forge down the Rito Village Chasm, which has a good supply of Crystallized Charge and Large Crystallized Charge. This will come in handy if you’re building up your Energy Cell battery to keep devices going for a longer time.
