The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Mighty Banana farming

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Mighty Banana farming

Our guide to might banana farming will give you an epic source of the powered-up fruit in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. You might get a good amount of them from the Yiga clan, but this is sporadic at best, but with our spot you’ll have a consistent source of the monster munching ingredient.

Mighty Banana are incredibly handy when you’re planning on taking on the game’s strongest monsters, because when you cook them in a meal you get a chunky attack up boost. This means that you’ll do more damage with every hit, so you’ll be able to blitz through monsters and bosses a whole lot faster in TotK.

They return from previous entries in the series, including The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, and while there are other options for attack-up buffs, the Mighty Banana is a strong option. If you use them wisely they can be the difference between finishing off a Gleeok in style and just scraping through.

The best Mighty Banana farming location

As mentioned above, you’ll get an OK supply of Mighty Banana from the Yoga grunts that show up throughout the game, but if you’re planning anything big then you need a good farming location in TotK. The best one that we’ve been able to find is on the south coast of Hyrule, so it’s easy to miss when you first start playing the game.

Track directly south of Lookout Landing on the map all the way to the Faron Sea past Lake Hylia and the Faron Grasslands. From there, head directly east along the coast until you get to Martha’s Landing, which overlooked by an Electric Gleeok.

East of there just a little further is Joju-u-u Shrine and the Lakeside Stable and what you’re looking for is a raised area south east of there. It’s called Ubota Point and it overlooks Lake Floria to its north and the Faron Sea coastline to the south.

Climb up to the first platform from the shrine and there are seven Mighty Banana plants on the top level and another couple of the level below it. That gives you a very easy farming spot with 27 of the attack-up fruit to use in your cooking.

However, the farming doesn’t stop there, because if you climb up to the next area along you can find another good sized batch. The problem is that they’re guarded by three strong Lizalfos (Silver, Black and Blue). You can try to sprint in to get the Mighty Bananas before they can respond, but there’s at least one with a long sturdy stick that’s easy to get caught by.

Another approach is to freeze or shock them to pick up the haul and get out of there unless you need some Lizalfos items too. You can also try using your stealth armor to see if you can sneak past them to grab the extra 9 or 12 around them.

The danger pickups continue, though, if you drop down to the level north west of the Lizalfos where you’ll find the Gloom hands and Phantom Ganon combination. They’re guarding another clutch of Mighty Banana, but we don’t recommend going toe-to-toe with it to get them.

Instead, you’re better off dropping down, grabbing a few and getting out of there before the Gloom Hands can swamp you. You’d just waste too many resources trying to defeat them, which would negate the farming benefit of picking up all of the Mighty Banana.

The other thing to consider is the fact that there’s a decent respawn level for plants and fruit in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. There’s around 40 item pickups in the area, which will last you a fairly long time, and you can return relatively soon after this to pick up more.

In a day or so, a third of them will have regrown and the rest won’t be that much later too, so you can keep coming back to this farming spot any time you need more Might Banana. The fast travel point at the Joju-u-u Shrine can be used to get pretty close and from there it’s just a simple climb to get up to the first platform.

This has the most fruit, so you could just use this as your farming spot to return to and ignore the more challenging Lizalfos and Phantom Ganon fights for the rest. You can also head on down to the beach to pick up some Razorclaw Crab to give you even more attack up options.

What to do with Mighty Banana

The obvious answer is to just cook them, but if you want to get the best out of your Mighty Banana in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom then you should use the best recipes. Don’t just throw five of them into a pot, because you won’t get that much time for your attack up.

Instead, mix four of them with a Light Dragon Horn to get a triple strength attack up for 30 minutes, which is more than enough time to deliver some monster destruction. If you’re not too sure how to get Light Dragon parts in TotK, you can see the Fang in the video below and the horn is just on the side of its head.
