The Other Woman UK release date and trailer

The Other Woman movie posterCameron Diaz is about to return to the comedy ring following up 2011’s Bad Teacher with a new eye candy infused side splitter called The Other Woman. Taking on the role of the jaded lover, it’s a film that plays on the concept of relationship revenge and takes it to a whole new level as a bit on the side turns into a deluge of mistresses, a wife and some amazing settings that take in New York and the beachfront beauty of Connecticut.

Set for a UK release date of the 25th April 2014, the film is the latest from director Nick Cassavetes, although it’s a big step in a new direction for his seeing as his previous work has included the much more serious The Notebook, Alpha Dog and My Sister’s Keeper. Written by relative newcomer Melissa Stack, The Other Women is a chick-flick comedy on the surface, but from the look of the trailer it could have enough for all sides of the equation.

The story is the aftermath of adultery discovered, but not just once, a multitude of times as Diaz finds out that her boyfriend Mark isn’t just having an affair, but that he’s married and she’s the mistress. This leads to a new friendship with Mark’s wife Kate (Leslie Mann) as they form a revenge pact to get back at him for his cheating ways, but it isn’t long before they find out that they’re not the only players in the his web of lies and a new, perky entry to their friendship group is discovered, with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model, Kate Upton putting in the kind of performance that Bay Watch fans would be happy with.

Kicking him in the short and curlies gets quickly passed over for a much more sophisticated plot of revenge when the girls discover that his dishonesty goes beyond his love life and well into his career. With their insider knowledge of his embezzlement, the element of surprise, hormone changing drugs and a thick as thieves friendship bond, they set about deploying their cunning plan. However, there’s still more adultery in Mark’s kit bag to potentially get in the way of things.

Danish actor, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Oblivion), plays the love-rat Mark and the cast is added to by pop princess, Nicki Minaj, as Cameron Diaz’s character’s assistant, as well as Madison McKinley as the mysterious 3rd mistress and Taylor Kinney (Zero Dark Thirty) as Kate’s brother.
