The Southwark Playhouse is like a cavern inside and with the might of A Sonic Love Affair the place turns into 60s Soho with the shake of a Go-Go boot. With live music from One Fathom Down and French Kissing, a whole host of DJ sets, Go-Go dancing from DRA Dance Collective and a moon landing inspired Burlesque show, the Southwark Playhouse puts on a beast of show.
Highlights from the night were One Fathom Down’s psycho surf metal guitar instrumentals and DRAs lightning fast Go-Go routines, while the DJ sets brought it all together with 60s garage, psychedelic, freakbeat and surf classics.
I missed most of Agent Lynch’s outer space burlesque show for a smoke break, but it looked pretty impressive as she’s
moon-walked (Armstrong not Jackson) past me in a full space suit.
