Left Leg Depot The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Left Leg Depot The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Left Leg Depot is the closest of the four to the Construct Factory in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, but the solution is a little tricky. You need the parts you find there to build your very own construct, but there are a few things that can trip you up in the process.

Firstly, you need to activate the Factory before you can even interact with the Zonai switch panel when you get to the Left Leg depot. TotK doesn’t exactly hold your hand through all of the mechanics in the game, so you kind of need to work things out for yourself, so you can find out how to get the construction started in the section below.

After that, you’ll be able to interact with the panel and get the Left Leg Depot part, but as soon as you do this you’ll trigger the front door to close. The back door will open, though, so you’ll need to transport the part to it, so the guide to the puzzle will help you make it through this to get another piece of the Construct Factory completed.

How to get to the Left Leg Depot

The Left Leg Depot is the easiest of the four around the Construct Factory in TotK, but if you’re more of a explore left kind of player then you might have missed it. You can find it to the south east of the factory and you can see the location for it, along with all of the depots, in the map image below.

If you go from the point you land with the mask head in front of the factory, trun around to face south east and you should be able to see a cave entrance to the left of the Lightroot. Sprint on down there and head through the entrance and you’ll find the Zonai activation panel straight ahead, down the slope.

How to activate Left Leg Depot

Before you can activate the Left Leg Depot, you first need to activate the Construct Factory, and it’s a similar story for all of the depots. If you don’t do this then when you get to the Zonai activation ring you’ll get a big red cross like you’ve just got the answer wrong on Family Fortunes.

The solution to this is wrapped up with the mask that you will have carried down from Dragonhead Island. If you haven’t made it there yet, but you’ve stumbled on the Construct Factory exploring the Depths, you need to complete all four Regional Phenomena and continued the main quests from there to get to it.

This will see you carrying the robot head down from Dragonhead Island, but The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom doesn’t tell you what to do when you make it to the factory. There’s a light connection between the mask head and the robot mold in front of the factory and this is the clue to solving the puzzle.

Carry it down from where you land and then you can twist it around to face you and place it in to the space for the head. As soon as you do this you, you get the classic Legend of Zelda chime and have a conversation with a voice telling you more about what you need to do to solve the Construct Factory. With that done you can head on over to the Left Leg Factory to activate it with the Zonai pad.

How to get the parts out of the Left Leg Depot

Pick up the part for the Left Leg Depot and place it on the metal grate to the left of the activation circle. You can then get on with it, hit the rocket attached to it and ride the lift up to the level above, which will fire the part out next to you.

That’s the easy part done, and there are no more simple elevator mechanisms to use for the next section. Instead, you’ve got a couple of rockets and a control panel in the area above and a broken bridge over the water next to the ledge.

You can do this the way that it appears to be intended and lower the bridge with the crank to get you a little closer to the top. Attach a couple of rockets to the part using TotK’s Ultrahand ability and do the same with the control panel right in the middle with the panel facing the ledge above.

You then need to position the part right at the end of the bridge to give you a chance of making it over the gap. Instead of activating the rockets by hitting them, stand on the control pad and press A to turn it on.

You’ll need to push forward on the control panel to ensure that the rockets take you forward as well as up. However, it’s a big gap and the mechanics of The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom mean that it’s easy to get this wrong.

The alternative is to just attach a couple of rockets to the part and blast it off to the left of the water close to the wall leading up to the ledge above. You can then use Ascend to get up there and Recall on the part to get it to repeat the process.

You can then use Ultrahand to catch it mid-air and carry it out of the exit and down to the Construct Factory. You can see all of this in the video below starting at 03:50. The catch can be a bit tricky, but it’s definitely possible.
