The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom how to get more battery

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom how to get more battery

In The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom you need to know how to get more batter to be able to use devices for longer. It’s not an exact science and some devices have a lifespan shorter than the max battery output, but it will definitely help you do more in TotK.

It doesn’t take long making your way through The Great Sky Island before you get given your Zonai batter belt contraption. With this you can power devices like fans and rockets to be able to get to new places in Tears of the Kingdom.

However, you’ll only have a relatively small amount of battery in the first instance. It’s easy to just make do with this for a long time, but if you really want to get the most out of TotK then it’s worth spending some time on getting more.

How to make your battery last for longer?

To begin with, you won’t really be able to get more permanent battery charge blocks up in the Great Sky Island when you first start in TotK. You can begin the process and you can read more about how to speed this up in the section below, but the key here is to make your battery last longer.

You do that by consuming either a Zonai Charge or a Large Zonai Charge while you’re using a powered device. This will give you more battery while you’re using the device, so it will allow you to extend the amount of time you have before your power runs out.

However, once you use it, your battery will go back to its previous range and you’ll need to repeat the process. This means that you can burn through a lot of charges, so you’ll need to get a good supply of these.

The good news is that you get them from defeating Soldier Constructs and these is pretty abundant throughout the Great Sky Island and The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom in general. The higher the power of the construct the more chance of getting a Large Zonai Charge.

You can also find both in chests, and you can exchange Zonaite for them at one of the Construct Forges, so it shouldn’t take you too long to get a good supply. You can use the duplication glitch on them to get a massive supply when you progress far enough in the game, but it’s better to use this on Zonaite to get more permanent battery, which you can read more about below.

How to get more battery?

In terms of how to get more battery in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, this is something that you should learn a little about up in the Great Sky Island, but it’s easy to miss the relevance. It’s also easy to put it off, because you probably won’t have enough materials to do anything when you first find out about it.

When you head up to the third of the shrines you’ll also pass by the Forge Construct in the Mining Cave and here you’ll be able to exchange Zonaite for Crystalized Charge. A little further on in the Great Sky Island when you get the fourth Shrine you’ll find the Crystal Refinery where you can exchange Crystalized Charge for more battery.

You’ll need 100 Crystalized Charge to be able to get more permanent battery and it takes three Zonaite to get each one, which means it takes 300 Zonaite to get each boost. That gives you a sense of the huge volumes you’re going to need in order to crank up your Energy Cell to the max.

Don’t worry, though, we’ve got you covered with some hacks below, but first we’re going to cover the basics. You can get Zonaite from mining shiny rocks in caves. There are a few mining caves in the Great Sky Island and there are way more in the rest of The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom map.

You can also find them in the Depths, so jump down any chasm and you’ll be able to get the same mining opportunities close to rocky outcrops. Finally, you can get them by defeating enemies in the Depths and if you defeat bigger bosses like Frox then you’ll get Large Zonaite.

To process Large Zonaite, you need to discover a Construct Forge in the Depths, and you can find the easiest of these by dropping down the Hyrule Field Chasm. This is where you go to do the quest for Robbie to get the camera, so if you’re still on your first steps in TotK then you can do both jobs at the same time.

If you head south west from Nisoij Lightroot just next to where you land down the Hyrule Field Chasm, you’ll go on to find the Nihcayam Lightroot. South of here is the Nogukoyk Lightroot and south again is the Great Abandoned Central Mine where you’ll find the Construct Forge.

Here you can exchange three Large Zonaite for a Large Crystallized Charge, which is worth 20 Crystallized Charge back at the Crystal Refinery up at the Great Sky Island. That means you only need 15 Large Zonaite to get the 100 you need to get more battery and with the tips below you should be able to max things out for the rest of your run through Tears of the Kingdom.

How to get a lot more Large Zonaite for battery farming?

One of the options is to become a Frox killing machine, and in all fairness this might be your best bet to begin with. The point at which you unlock the duplication glitch is quite late on in TotK, so while this is your fastest method in the end, it comes after you’ve complete every temple.

The good news, though, is that Frox also drop Large Crystallized Charge, so when you combine everything together with all of the Zonaite Deposits in the depths they’re a decent option to farm for more battery. You can find a Frox close to the Great Abandoned Central Mine to the south of Nihcayam Lightroot.

A Dazzlefruit arrow will stun it and you can get on it’s back to attack it’s ore weak spots. It’ll then throw you off and you can bullet time arrow it in the head to get another stun to repeat the process and defeat it easily without taking any damage. It’ll reset after every Blood Moon, so you can get more battery fairly regularly as you progress through The Legend of Zelda Tears if the Kingdom.

However, this is still a fairly slow way to pick up enough Large Zonaite to get more battery for your Energy Cell. The best option is to use the duplication glitch, which you can find out more about with the link.

You’ll need to get to the Construct Factory to unlock the spot where duplication works and you get to this soon after you’ve done the temples for the regional phenomena. You also need a triple shot bow, so you might want to read our guide on getting the Majora’s Mask.

This will give you five Lynels to fight in a row and with our tips in the guide, you can do it easily. The location for the Lynel Arena is close to the Great Abandoned Central Mine, so it all ties together with everything else above.

Once you have this, you can go to Tobios Hollow, which you unlock on the way to the Construct Factory and here you can turn a few Large Zonaite into more than enough to get a lot more battery in TotK. With all of this it shouldn’t take you too long to max out your Energy Cell.
