Launching on the 19th March 2013, Impossible Truth was recorded and mixed at Beech House in Nashville. Co-produced by Tyler and his studio compadre, Mark Nevers, the album also features guest appearances from fellow Nashville old faithfuls, Chris Scruggs, Luke Schneider and Lambchop members Scott Martin and Roy Agee.
Preview track from the album, Cadillac Desert, is an instrumental with the weight of a classical track, but without the pomp or shackles. It’s packed with a roving array of amazing sounds drawn together around a wandering, beautiful guitar sequence that’s easy to forget the trudge of life with. It’s got more layers than a genetically modified onion and a glistening backdrop filled with a great array of different textures and tones.
If you’re looking for the best upcoming album to tune out to and smell the roses then you might find it difficult to find something more apt than William Tyler’s Impossible Truth. The slide guitar on Cadillac Desert will be worth the investment all by itself, but hopefully it’s just a tast of more to come.
