Jurassic World Dominion UK release date, age rating latest and more

Jurassic World Dominion UK release date, age rating and parents guide

The dinosaurs are out and about now, so it’s time to start the duh nah neh neh nehh music again with the Jurassic World Dominion UK release date planned for early summer (details below). To give you everything you need to know, here’s what we have so far, including the latest on the age rating, our parents guide, story synopsis, cast and runtime estimate.

As ever with a Jurassic Park spin-off film, there’s a lot of suspended belief needed and if that was taken to 11 in Fallen Kingdom, it’s cranking up to “off the charts” for Dominion. If you remember the end of the last film then you should know that the dinosaurs managed to escape the Lockwood mansion of mayhem. This came just as they were about to be auctioned off to the highest megalomaniac bidders from around the world.

The story synopsis picks up with the global response to the situation as the world tries to cope with them all roaming free. The most experienced dinosaur bods are then brought back together to sort things out a bit. Owen and Clair lead the march for the more recent crop of monsters and old favourites Dr. Sattler, Dr Grant, Dr Malcolm and Dr Wu are back in the mix too.

Cast

The Jurassic World Dominion cast sees Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard back as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, along with Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and BD Wong as the respective doctors mentioned above. The film also stars Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past), who returns as Barry from the first Jurassic World film.

We’ll update you with more details about the cast as they’re confirmed.

Jurassic World Dominion UK release date

The third entry in the rebirth of Michael Crichton’s brilliant work has been scheduled for a UK release date of Friday the 10th June 2022. It’ll be coming out in the US and Canada on the same date, which should make it one of the big early summer blockbusters for the year.

Jurassic World Dominion doesn’t currently have much in the way of competition for its release weekend with no other big films due out in the UK. However, a week later it’ll get a tougher test with the arrival of Toy Story spin-off, Lightyear, so it’s going to be interesting to see how long JW3 can hold on to the number 1 spot after its opening week.

The June 2022 release is a good indicator that it will go on to come out on DVD, Blu-ray and digital in the UK around October 2022. This will give it a long lead in time for Christmas home entertainment sales.

Age rating and parents guide

The Jurassic World Dominion UK age rating certificate has now been confirmed by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) with the release date just days away. Its been given a certification of 12A, which is similar to the first two films, which were both rated 12.

From a parents guide perspective, you can expect the notes to include threat with dinosaur attacks taking place throughout the film, along with the potential of a few bloody scenes. There’s also a fair amount of action violence along the way in Jurassic World films as the characters try to fight off any of the dinosaurs or people that are out to get them.

We’ll update you with more details on the age rating for the film following the release. Runtime

As with the age rating, the Jurassic World Dominion runtime was confirmed close to the release date with the film length being 2 hours and 27 minutes. Fallen Kingdom was 2 hours and 8 minutes, and the opening film in the trilogy was 2 hours and 4 minutes, so Dominion has the longest runtime in the trilogy.
