Kingdom of Beasts Overview

Before diving into all the cool stuff you can find in Kingdom of Beasts, let’s briefly overview the area. First up, how do you get there? The entrance to Kingdom of Beasts is located in the South section of the Blossoming Arcadia area.

Use Oatchi’s Rush ability to create a mushroom bridge and then cross over it to head towards the location. After that, you must destroy the ice gate. Once that’s done, find elevated soil in that area, and then you can command the Pikmin to dig it up, revealing the cave’s entrance.

Kingdom of Beasts might not be the most difficult cave in Pikmin 4, but it’s easy to get tangled on the hidden treasure and how to get 100%. It has a total of 6 levels and two castaways you need to rescue. Plus, you’ll encounter boss fights with Empress Bulblax and two Emperor Bulblax. Along with that, there are 16 treasures you can find in this cave.

The first sublevel has two treasures: Flaky Temptation and Memory Fragment. As soon as you land in this sublevel, destroy the dirt wall to your left,  and you’ll find the Flaky Temptation behind a Bulborb. The Memory Fragment will be located in the half-buried empty flowerpot.

Sublevel 2 – Where to find the hidden treasure

The second sublevel will also have two treasures with the last one being hidden. The first one, Ambiguous Goo, will be located behind the ice wall in the eastern corner of this level. Anxious Sprout will be sticking out of the ground on the lower left section of this level. You’ll need help from Pikmin to dig this one out.

If you’re struggling to find the latter, you can can see it in the Kingdom of Beasts walkthrough video below from the 4-minute mark.

Sublevel 3 – Defeating Empress Bulblax

In this sublevel, you will discover a treasure called the Disk of Joyous Wisdom and a castaway that needs rescuing. To obtain the treasure and save the castaway, you must defeat the boss Empress Bulblax. If you know what to do, defeating this boss is quite easy, even though its size may give the impression that it will be difficult.

Empress Bulblax will only use one type of attack. As part of this attack, Empress Bulblax performs a roll from one side to the other. You must maintain position directly in front of its face because the Empress Bulblas won’t roll forward. Keep tossing Pikmin in its direction, and as soon as Empress Bulblax begins to shake them off, call the Pikmin to you so that they can stay out of harm’s way.

The Empress Bulblax will soon be defeated, revealing the three numbered doors. A piece of the Disk of Joyous Wisdom is hidden behind each door. Once you have all three pieces, you’ll have the complete treasure. Plus, the castaway will show up after you have defeated Empress Bulblax.

Sublevel 4

In this sublevel of Kingdom of Beasts, you’ll find three treasures. One of them, the Gold Nugget, is a 20-piece treasure. Fortunately, all 20 pieces are in one place. To get to it, take the left-most route as you enter this sublevel, take the first and second right, then make a left, and the Gold Nugget will be located under the half-buried pot towards your left.

Stay on the same path, and you’ll find the Planetary Rubber Cutie behind the barrier towards your left. You’ll have to use Oatchi to lower these barriers. Finally, you can get the Sweet Stumble-Not by defeating the Whiptounge Bulborb.

You’ll find three treasures in this sublevel as well. Upon entering this level, go towards the purple bush to your left. You’ll find the first treasure, the Cookie of Prosperity, on your right after crossing the barrier. The Chance Totem is a three-piece treasure. You can get all three pieces by defeating the Bulbear.

To get the Crew-Cut Gourd, you must dig it out from the ground. The Pikmin will do that for you. The Crew-Cut Gourd is located towards the left side, sticking out of the ground once you cross the half-buried pot on the same path as the Cookie of Prosperity.

Sublevel 6 – Defeating the two Emperor Bulblax

Once you are at the final sublevel, you can rescue the last of the castaways for this cave. Plus, this sublevel also has one treasure called the Ancient Statue Head. The problem is that this treasure is behind a closed gate that will open only once you defeat the two Emperor Bulblax. Fortunately, defeating the two Emperor Bulblax becomes easy if you follow a few strategies.

Firstly, make sure that you don’t wake both bosses at the same time. Defeat the first one and then wake up the second. To do that, approach one boss from the other side so the other doesn’t wake up. You can use Oatchi’s Rush, the Ultra-Spicy Spray, or throw Pikmin to attack the boss. Your best bet is to wait for Emperor Bulblax to stick out its tongue and then use Oatchi’s Rush to deal massive damage.

Once you’ve defeated the two Emperor Bulblax, the final castaway will appear for you to rescue, and the door leading to the treasure will open. However, the path still has a few obstacles. Firstly, you need to ride Oatchi to cross the water. After that, you need to use red Pikmin to extinguish the fire. Once that’s done, the treasure is all yours.

Conclusion

For many Pikmin fans, it’s all about hidden treasures and unique areas. The Kingdom of Beasts has both of these in abundance, making it an early challenge in Pikmin 4. Fortunately, with our complete walkthrough, you shouldn’t have much trouble defeating any bosses or finding a treasure in this cave. Carefully follow our instructions, and you won’t have to worry about getting lost or missing the hidden treasure.
