Eevee evolutions

In total there are eight evolutions that you can choose from for Eevee. However, some are easier to know how to do than others. Vaporeon, Flareon, Glaceon, Jolteon and Leafeon are all fairly similar, but the differences for Espeon, Umbreon and Sylveon add a little complexity into the mix.

Vaporeon

This is the water-type evolution for Eevee, which you should be able to achieve using the Water Stone. Once you catch one of them and pick up the item you’ll be able to assign it to them and the transformation will take place.

Flareon

The fire-type evolution for Eevee transforms when you bestow the Fire Stone on one. Give the item to it and you’ll see it flame on to add a little heat to your party.

Jolteon

The electric-type evolution of Eevee transforms when you give it the Lightning Stone. As with the previous three versions, give it the item and you’ll get a jolt of electricity to add into the mix.

Glaceon

The Ice Stone the how to evolve Eevee into Glaceon, so again just give her the item and you’ll be on your way. However, as in previous Pokémon titles in the series, you’ll also be able to use the Ice Rock. Just let one out in the vicinity of the rock and you’ll get the transformation you need.

Leafeon

The grass-type evolution makes its change with the Leaf Stone, but just like Glaceon you’ll also have the opportunity to take your Eevee to the Moss Rock to achieve the same result.

Espeon

Things get a bit more convoluted from here on in. You can evolve Eevee into Espeon () by achieving high friendship during the day. To get high friendship the best bet is to have the Eevee in your party and your lead Pokémon. Use her to battle repeatedly and give her healing items during battles and she’ll eventually warm to you.

Umbreon

Umbreon (dark type) is the night time equivalent of Espeon, so achieve high friendship at night and you’ll get the job done. See the tips in Espeon for achieving high friendship.

Sylveon

If you’re wondering how to evolve Eevee into Sylveon, the fairy-type evolution, it’s a very similar process to the previous two. The only difference is that you need to achieve high friendship with a fairy-type move assigned to the Eevee. Just remember not to have one assigned if you’re going for Espeon or Umbreon, because this will over-ride their evolutions.
