She-Hulk where did the Hulk go in space and how did he get a son?

She-Hulk where is the Hulk going in space

If you’ve been watching She Hulk on Disney Plus then you might be wondering where the Hulk went on the space ship in outer space and how he managed to get a son by the end of Season 1. The good news is that the season finale cleared most of it up for us, but there were a few other clues from the rest of the MCU to give us a good idea about where he was going and what he’s been doing, plus what the deal is with his son.

The situation started out in the very first episode when a space ship flies in front of the car that Bruce and Jen are driving right at the beginning. Bruce says “watch out” and Jen swerves, crashing off the road and down a steep slope, leaving them both bleeding at the bottom.

In fact it’s the appearance of the ship that causes Jen to become She-Hulk when Bruce’s blood mixes with hers due to the Hulk inhibitor that he’s wearing. It isn’t until later in the episode that Bruce talks about the incident and you find out where the ship is from.

Where is the space ship from?

When Jen finally wakes up in Bruce and Smart Hulk’s Mexican hideout, she heads downstairs and finds him working in his lab. When she asks what happened, he says that a Sakaarian was looking for him, and we now know that it was linked to his son Skaar.

By the time episode 2 comes along it’s clear that the message about his son has been delivered and that the Hulk is flying off on the space ship. As it turns out, this is not the last we’ve seen of him for the rest of She-Hulk Attorney At Law, because he returns in the season finale to introduce Skaar to Jen and the rest of his family.

If you’re not up on your MCU alien trivia, Hulk met the Sakaarians during the events of Thor Ragnarok. Essentially, at the end of Avengers Age of Ultron, he flies off in the Quinjet and the place that he finds himself is Sakaar, the home of the Sakaarians.

The planet is run by the Grandmaster, who entertains the masses with his Contest of Champions, which went on to see the Hulk fighting Thor during Ragnarok. Eventually, the people rose up in a rebellion against the Grandmaster, inspired by the actions of the heroes, and the Hulk returned to Bruce Banner form, having been the green machine for two years straight.

The two then return together to take on Hela in Asgard and use Ragnarok to destroy her, along with Asgard itself, before taking the refugees to earth to set up a new home for them. The most notable Sakaarian from the film is Miek, who is on the more insect-like side of the spectrum for the people of the planet. He’s one of Korg’s mates and went on to move to New Asgard with them all.

However, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a Sakaarian (or Sakaarans as they’re sometimes referred to), because mercenaries from the planet have been on the payroll of Thanos and Ronan before. They featured in Guardians of the Galaxy, attacking Peter Quill in the temple when he gets the orb. They also fought at the Battle for Earth in Avengers Endgame, but were soundly beaten by the alternative Gamora.

Where did the Hulk go?

Based on the fact that the ship is Sakaarian it was logical to assume that the Incredible Hulk went to the planet of Sakaar again, which was confirmed in the last episode of She-Hull. We don’t know what he did there, but when he comes back he’s got a son called Skaar, which follows a slightly similar story to the plot of comic book series, Planet Hulk and World War Hulk.

If you’re looking for more theories about the Incredible Hulk, you can check out our views about the potential that his abilities were given to him by Kang. If that’s the case then the character might be instrumental for Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, along with his son.

Everything is sort of taking us to a big climax at the end of Phase 6 with Avengers The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars and we’re expecting both Hulk and Skaar to be heavily involved. Maybe the Sakaarians know something about the upcoming rise of Kang the Conqueror, in which case Hulk might have also returned with some new intelligence, as well as a son.

How did Hulk get a son?

The story progression in the comics is very different to events in the MCU, but there are some common themes. The Hulk goes to Sakaar, fathers a son and returns to earth, which is where we find ourselves now at the end of She-Hulk.

In the comics he’s tricked into going to Sakaar by the Illuminati, but in the MCU he goes there himself to protect Natasha and the people that he loves from his more dangerous self. In both versions he stays in Hulk form on the planet, and in the comics he fathers two children with shadow warrior Caiera.

We expect things to be similar in the MCU, although this hasn’t been confirmed yet. This means that when Bruce stayed in Hulk form for two years on Sakaar he met and fathered Skaar. When he returned to Bruce again in Thor: Ragnarok, he might have no recollection of what happened, so didn’t know.

The Sakaarian ship that showed up in episode 1 of She-Hulk must have arrived to tell him that he had a son. It’s possible that there will be two sons as in the comics – the second was called Hiro-Kala and was a villain – however, there’s nothing on that as of yet.

In the comics, Caiera dies due to an explosion and the Hulk returns to earth with Skaar to exact his revenge on the Illuminati during the events of World War Hulk. Clearly, that doesn’t happen in the same way in the MCU, but we’re yet to get confirmation of Skaar’s maternal origins.

If the arrival of Skaar on earth is a sign that we’re going to get some kind of adaptation of the World War Hulk story then it will inevitably be different to the comics. There’s no Illuminati on this earth for the Hulk to be mad at and there’s no mention of increased radiation to absorb on Sakaar to make him turbo powered.
