Glass Onion music and songs list – Full details

Glass Onion Music and Songs list

The Knives Out mystery continues, so here’s the Glass Onion music list, stripping back the crystalline layers for each of the songs in the film. There’s a lot packed in, but as Benoit Blanc says, it’s all there in plain sight, so here’s the list of tracks that you can hear and a little detail about each of the,.

The sequel is a lot of fun and playing along with the whodunit will keep your grey cells in action. Even with the mid-point twist there’s a lot still to guess at and while the ending is a little on the screwball scramble side of the frequenceries, the music is a whole lot less cranially challenged.

  • Mothership Connection (Star Child) by Parliament – Funk track taken from the album of the same name. Parliament’s biggest hit was Give Up The Funk (Tear The Roof Off The Sucker).
  • To Love Somebody by The Bee Gees – This song kind of speaks for itself.
  • Aeraki (To Thilko) by Eleni Foureira – The music gets a bit more local for the Greek island destination. Eleni Foureira also represented Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest and came 2nd.
  • Take Me Home Country Roads by Toots & The Maytals (covering the John Denver country classic)
  • Star by David Bowie – This is the lesser known stellar body song by Bowie, but Glass Onion throws in its more recognisable big brother in for good measure.
  • Starman by Bowie – Bowie at the height of his Ziggy brilliance.
  • Cool Change by Little River Band – Things transition from British space Bowie to Aussie rock with this track by Melbourne’s LRB.
  • Mona Lisa by Nat King Cole – This classic was written by Ray Evans and Jay Livingstone for the 1949 film, Captain Carey, USA with Nat King Cole performing the music and lyrics.

In addition to the songs above, Glass Onion also includes a little classical music. These are in connection to the boxes that each of the islanders are sent and help them open it to get to the invite for the murder mystery weekend.

It’s a bit of a Johannes Sebastian Bach fugue love-fest, which includes details of what a fugue is within the early section of the film.

  • Fugue in G Minor by J.S. Bach
  • Bach’s Music Box – “Little Fugue in G Minor” by J.S. Bach

Miles’ guitar songs

There are two points in the film when you can hear Miles doing his learning guitar efforts. The two songs are listed below and they’re sort of meant to be an addition to the clue that Benoit lists out later in the film about Miles’ lack of intelligence.

  • Under The Bridge by The Red Hot Chili Peppers
  • Blackbird by The Beatles

The mysterious musical references of Glass Onion

In addition to all of the songs above, the Glass Onion credits also include references to the music below. They don’t come up with anything meaningful over on the big G, so they’re a bit of a mystery at the moment. If you work them out, drop us a comment over on Twitter.

  • Hourly Dong by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Joseph Bonn
  • Abzorbing Dance by John Denon and Richard Paul Valance
