Jurassic World Evolution 2 how to unlock Therizinosaurus in Biosyn Sanctuary

Jurassic World Evolution 2 how to unlock Therizinosaurus in Biosyn Sanctuary

The Dominion DLC campaign, Biosyn Sanctuary, is a great new addition to Jurassic World Evolution 2 and if you want to know how to unlock the Therizinosaurus here’s everything you need. The big beast is a bit like a cross between a massive emu and Freddy Kruger with its oversized claws and long neck, so it makes a great addition to your park.

The new paid DLC came out not long after the Jurassic World Dominion release date, and it brings with it a brand new campaign linked to the story from the film. It’s set in between the last two films in the trilogy and you play the part of park manager for the Biosyn Sanctuary just as it’s starting up.

The added content includes a good batch of new Jurassic World Dominion dinosaurs, and the Therizinosaurus is probably the toughest of them to unlock. The good news is that there are a lot of instructions to follow in the campaign to get you on your way with notes from Biosyn git Lewis Dodgson and Ramsay Cole, but these don’t give you everything.

How does Jurassic World Evolution 2 Dominion DLC work

As the Dominion DLC is paid, you’ll need to buy it from the online store linked to your copy of Jurassic World Evolution 2. If you’ve got the game on your PS4 or PS5 then you’ll need to go to the PlayStation store and its the same situation for Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch.

The other option is to follow the links on the far right of the main menu screen. The campaigns start option is on the left and on the other side of the screen you can see the section for downloadable. When you choose this you’ll then see the Jurassic World Dominion DLC, and you can use this to get to the store to buy it and download it.

With it bought and downloaded you’ll get access to the Biosyn Sanctuary campaign, which is the prequel story campaign mentioned above. In addition to this, you’ll also get a Dominion Chaos Theory to make your way through with a Park setup in in the High Sierras with Owen Grady.

Through these you’ll be able to unlock all of the new dinosaurs, park buildings and extras from the movie to use on your Sandbox park. This covers the Therizinosaurus, but you should know that you’re going to need to jump through some very small flaming hoops to get the job done and you can read our detailed step-by-step guide below to help you along the way.

How to unlock the Pyroraptor in the Jurassic World Evolution 2 Biosyn Sanctuary campaign to get the Therizinosaurus

Once you’ve got the DLC, you’ll see the Biosyn Campaign from the main menu in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Start this to begin the process to unlock Pyroraptor and if you’re looking for the short answer to the question, you just need to progress this campaign until you get told to research them.

This comes just after you unlock the 4th Biosyn Building upgrade, which will give you a feature to research the Jurassic World Dominion dinosaurs. However, there are a lot of hoops to jump through along the way, so if you want the full details, follow the steps below:

  • Build a Hydro Power hub.
  • Link it up to the Research Compound.
  • Upgrade to Core Facility Stage 1 on the left of the research tree.
  • Build a Response Facility, Palaeo-Medical and Emergency Shelter.
  • Recruit scientists to up your stats to 6 for Logistics, Genetics and Welfare.
  • Upgrade to Core Facility Stage 2 on the left of the research tree.
  • Upgrade the Hydro Power Hub from the the research page. Apply the upgrade by choosing it on the upgrades slot available when you click on the building and tab over to upgrades.
  • Take in a batch of herbivores, build an enclosure and make sure that they’re comfortable. You need to achieve 80%, so click on the dinosaurs to see how they’re settling in and change their environment to meed their needs.

  • Build an research outpost – which is the Jurassic World Dominion equivalent to the viewing platform. You can put this inside the enclosure and to make it operational you’ll need to connect it to the Hyper Loop.
  • Build a ranger station and assign a Ranger Team to it.
  • Upgrade to Core Facility Stage 3 on the left of the research tree.
  • Construct a working Expedition Center and Fossil Center.
  • Get DNA to at least 50% genome for Dimetrodon using the two new centres, build a hatchery, enclosure and release them.
  • Achieve 80% comfort for the Dimetrodons using the method above to click on them to find out what they need. You can also see this in the video below.
  • Upgrade to Core Facility Stage 4 on the left of the research tree.
  • Research Amber Mine level 2.
  • Research the Pyroraptor from the Research tab. The Biosyn Genetic Dinosaurs option is in the line above the Amber Mine upgrades button. It looks like an scan of a Pyroraptor’s head.
  • Get a 100% genome for the Pyroraptor, incubate in the hatchery and release them into the Biosyn Sanctuary.
  • Achieve 80% comfort for the Pyroraptors as before, but they’re easy to keep happy with some with feed stations, 3-4 of them in an enclosure and a little water. You can also see all of the steps to get to this stage in the video below.

  • Next you’ll get a new batch of dinosaurs arriving on your Biosyn Sanctuary park and you’ll need a pretty big enclosure for them. It includes a number of Ankylosaurus, Apatosaurus and Stygimoloch, so get ready for a lot of environmental shaping with a lot of forest, tall leaf, ground fruit and ground nut requirements. Don’t make the enclosure too narrow, because the Apatosaurus don’t roam around that much so they need a good radius for their territory.
  • You’ll then have a tuberculosis outbreak to deal with, so research the cure and send out the vetinary unit to administer it.
  • Now you’ll be able to research the Therizinosaurus, along with the Giganotosaurus and Dreadnoughtus using the Biosyn Genetic Dinosaurs option on the top line of the Research page.
  • However, here’s where things get tricky, because you’ll need to unlock Amber Mine level 4 to get enough Therizinosaurus amber, and that requires you to get 150 operatives in your park. The steps below will help you pick this up.
  • Research Amber Mine level 3.
  • Send out expeditions for the Dreadnoughtus, process them at the fossil centre and when you get the 100% genome add one to your park. Repeat this process for the Giganotosaurus and with everything else you might expect to be pretty close to the 150 operatives, but sadly you won’t be.

  • The solution to this is to repeat the process again, but this time for a Tyrannosaurus Rex, which is a big draw. This should get you the operatives you need, but there’s one last hoop to jump through.
  • You also need high requirements for both Logistics and Genetics to unlock the Therizinosaurus, so you’ll need to recruit and train scientists to achieve this. The Staff Improvements unlocks in Infrastructure are a big part of this, so work your way through them if you haven’t already and you should be able to get the numbers you need.
  • With the Therizinosaurus research node unlocked and Amber Mine Level 4, you’ll be free to send out the expeditions to the locations, process the amber at the Fossil Center and synthesize the 100% genome you need. You can also add the upgrade to the Expedition Center to improve your yields to make this easier for you.
  • With that done you can build an enclosure for your very first Therizinosaurus, hatch and release one to get the job done. Once you unlock the 100% genome in the Biosyn Sanctuary campaign you’ll then be able to get them in Sandbox.
