BLML release cool new video for Sirens

BLML SirensBLML (A.K.A. Blackmail) have recently put together an ace new video for their track Sirens, from their debut LP, The Gift. The Greek band may not be so well known over here, but if Sirens is anything to go by, they’re well worth listening to.

There’s a cool psychedelic slant in and amongst the 60s pop tones and rock vocals that make up the song. It’s catchy, but not too crafted, with surreal sensibilities and some great percussion.

The video is a strange cartoon world with the band being made up of animal headed musicians surrounded by laser beam lights, random insects and floating skulls. It’s like the work of Hanna-Barbera, Salavadore Dali and Damian Hirst has all come together in one place.

BLML is the 2010 reincarnation of experimental Greek rock band, Blackmail. It’s fronted by acclaimed guitarist and singer George Karanikolas and while their debut album saw the light of day in Greece at the back end of 2011, it’s a fairly new one on UK soil.

BLML will be releasing more videos to accompany songs from The Gift over the coming months. Hopefully, they’ll be as impressive as Sirens has turned out to be.
