Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem UK & North America release date, age rating latest and more

Out of New York’s sewer ooze we’ve got the prospect of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem UK release date to look forward to (details below). We’ll give you everything we know so far about the film, including the latest on the age rating certificate, story, cast and runtime for the animated reboot to the franchise.

It’s the work of Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Animation and there’s more than a hint of Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse about the animated style, which you can see for yourself in the trailer at the bottom of the page. The cast list is huge and it’s directed by Jeff Rowe who did a great job with his movie debut, The Mitchells vs. the Machines for Netflix a couple of years back.

The story is a complete reboot, so we’ll see the adventure starting anew for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They’ve spent their lives in hiding, but now they’re ready to take New York City by storm with a few huge rhino and warthog-shaped issues along the way.

Cast

The cast for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem features a lot of big names, but there are also a few new and lesser-known actors in the mix. These include Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown, Jr., Hannibal Buress, Nicholas Cantu, Natasia Demetriou, Ayd Edebiri, and Brady Noon.

The celebrity cast list includes John Cena, Rose Byrne, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube, Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian), Post Malone, Paul Rudd (Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania), and Maya Ruddolph. If that isn’t enough, there’s also Seth Rogan, who is already taking his voice acting skills to 11 in 2023 with his role as Donkey Kong in the Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem 2023 UK and North America release date

As things stand, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem UK release date Monday, July 31st, 2023, which is the same date as the early access release in North America. Although, it’ll be coming out on general release in the US on Wednesday, August 2nd, so it sort of looks like it’s going to be earlier in the UK.

The July release is fast approaching, and there’s a good amount of competition for Mutant Mayhem. It’s out on the same date as Meg 2 The Trench and Haunted Mansion, plus Barbie will have only just had a release and then it’ll go up against Gran Turismo a week later.

After it’s cinema run it should then have a digital, DVD and Blu-ray release in the UK just in time for Christmas 2023. This will probably be a little earlier in North America even if the cinema date is the same, because the US usually gets home entertainment a little ahead of us. As a Paramount film it’s also likely to stream on Paramount+ in America before the DVD and Blu-ray comes out.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem age rating certificate latest

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem age rating certificate has yet been confirmed by the UK by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), but there’s a lot we can take from other similar films. It’s a similar case in North America and one of the most comparable films is Spider-Man Into The Spiderverse, which was given a PG on both sides of the Atlantic.

The last Turtles film to come out was Michael Bay’s Out of the Shadows in 2016, which was the second film he directed after Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came out in 2014. Both picked up 12 age rating certification, but we’ll be very surprised if that’s the case for Mutant Mayhem.

Looking at the trailer, which you can see below, we’re expecting certification notes to be similar to Into The Spiderverse. This included moderate fantasy violence, mild threat, injury detail and innuendo, so are worth considering from a parents guide point of view.

We’ll update you with more details on the age rating and release date for the film as they get confirmed. Check out our movie news section to keep tabs on the latest upcoming films, and you can also visit the official website at www.teenagemutantninjaturtlesmovie.com.

Runtime

As with the age rating, the runtime for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem will be confirmed in the run-up to the release date.

If you’re looking for a good estimate then Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse was 1 hour and 57 minutes long. However, the last Paramount Animation film was Rumble last year and it clocked in at 1 hour and 35 minutes, so if you split the difference you have the ball park figure.

Trailer

We’re loving the art style in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem trailer and we can’t wait to see more from it. The character changes work well and Leo, Raph, Donnie and Micky look and sound perfect.

There’s definitely an animated movie renaissance going on at the moment with much more creativity of art style, which we also saw recently in Puss In Boots The Last Wish. The Mitchells vs. The Machines was another early entry in the shake-up, so hopefully Jeff Rowe can do a similar thing with the 2023 Turtles movie.

The trailer doesn’t give too much away, which is a good thing from our point of view. If you compare it to films like Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania, which contained a lot of the story elements, it’s definitely on the spoiler-free side of the spectrum.

It should have a lot of impact on the big screen, much like Spider-Man Into The Spiderverse did, while also making a solid jump to DVD and Blu-ray. The wider cast, other than the Turtles, is a little tucked away on the trailer, but as with the story, we’re hoping this just means they’re saving it all up for a surprise in the cinema.

There’s bound to be another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem trailer before the August 2023 release date, so we’ll keep you posted.
